*huge grin*

You said in your BZP message you weren't entirely happy with it, and I guess I can see why, but for the record, try looking at it sized down a lot, as it'll have to be in my story -- it actually looks very, very good that way. And great attention to detail; again, better than anything I would have had time or mental energy for. *bows*

I think the only thing that feels unusually lacking is lack of lighting/shading on the mechanical parts, but that's not a necessity; some canon images don't, and it's harder to notice when it's smaller. *shrugs* I kind of like that it draws attention more to the tendrils; at that angle, they look like they're attacking and that is what someone would focus on if they were in that position being attacked.

Yeah, I guess it does look better smaller. ^^
I actually left the shading out on the mech parts because I was too unsure about lightning. You have light coming from the water's surface and light coming from four of its tentacles in the exact opposite direction...

Yeah, I thought that might be it. I almost mentioned something in the previous comment about the possibility of ambient lighting but forgot. What I would do to solve that is have a few corners look brighter in both directions, I guess.

I could've done that yeah. But in my experiance doing it wrong makes the part look even more flat...
