The Easterlings are my favorite faction of the Lord Of The Rings, I have to say that the design of their armor is aesthetically beautiful and also inspires respect.Related content

Absolute perfection, honestly. You have done an amazing job capturing the feel and terror of the solders of Rhun. A people far superior to all of their neighbors, could easily have released themselves from the shackles of Mordor, had they not been feed constant lies for nearly two thousand years. Thank you for breathing life into the intricate beauty and style that is the People of Rhun. They deserve much more love than the movies ever gave them.

Kinda glad they didn't get much screentime in the movies, because then we would see then fighting- and given they were at Minas Tirith, getting wrecked by stupid ghost soldiers. When we don't see much of them, their baddassery cant be diminished!

Yeah the Ghosts were cool and all, but honestly it was kinda a bullshit ending. I would have much preferred to see the fifteen thousand Rohan reinforcements against the highly skilled Kataphracts, and Soldiers, of Rhun.

You can see them in the film during the battles, but you really have to look for them.

Lotr was based off WW2, Easterlings and the Haradrim were meant to resemble the Japanese I think.

False. Tolkien hated allegory and constantly had to dismiss claims by hippies that the Lord of the Rings was an allegory for WW2.

If you have eagle eyes, you might notice the Easterlings have a blink and you miss (and by miss, I mean miss) cameo when orcs first spill through the Minas Tirith gate.

it's great. but... the pose is alittle off, it might just be me but it looked alittle like he had one leg to start with and then when i realized it i thought the pose was off, i think his torso should be rotated slightly

I love the Easterlings! And this is just awesome, completely captures their look!
The scene when they marched into the black gate was amazing, I was looking forward to them actually being in the battle for Pelennor fields, as from what memory serves from the books, they were supposed to be. But was so disappointed... I did hold hope to see them at the black gate but once again no

That's sad, I realy wanted to see them in action, since they seem to be the most disciplined soldiers in the hordes of Sauron, but in the movie they mysteriously disappears :/

Yeah would of been amazing to have seen them in action. I completely agree, they did seem, far more elite of Saurons forces with a far greater military prowess and organisation.
Interesting thing is- in all the games brought out pre-release of return of the king, the easterlings were enemies you fought on the Pelennor fields... so perhaps they just sadly had to cut them out of the original script, but didn't inform the games developers.

Rhun hassassin is just a fanart, but the fact of having heavy armor is that there are battlefield hassassins, their main purpose is to hide between mass and attack the commanders and leaders to disorientate the enemies.

In the movie they don't use them, but according to the story, Rhun and Gondor were always at war, long before what happens in the Lord of the Rings, is probable that they show in the movie only spearmens and not the full range of soldiers who possesses this great nation.

That's why we use the word "emphasize", it is true that men appear, but compared to the amount of orcs and beasts used in the movie, Haradrim, Rhun and corsairs appear very little, the book is different, the presence of humans is more notable
