Heyo guys! I had fun with this, and it's an idea I've had for a while after watching some old PeanutButterGamer videos (go check him out he's hilarious!). In one of his videos, he jokingly called Mario "Marro," and an idea started rolling. The Mario franchise is known for a bright, cartoony style, but what if it was more like Twilight Princess: dark and detailed?
This idea also stems from GameTheorist's videos on Mario, in that the hero-villain roles are actually switched. Marro in this universe is NOT the good guy.
Who knows, maybe there's already a version like that out there, since I'm not that big into the Mario Bros.
