Mine's shootier than yours!Here it is, in all its nice colour with yet again another extravagant background! The detail! The setting! The....blue!
well I thought the blue popped his details out nicely so there it is. But check out the grass tufts. Mmm hmm thats some quality artwork right there. Spent a bit more time on the bullets than those grass tufts I bet!

Indeed it is, I've stumbled upon him yesterday by sheer luck and was most surprised there are still traditional artists able to make one's jaw drop in pure awe^^

Effing good he really is, as is your flashgit. I mean there's no point in comparing, because we should all strive for some friggin' individuality and if we don't like it then we should strive to get better trying to not succumb into gloom, when we see someone is better, but that's an issue iself^^

haha it is cliche but its cool, and no, I don't really feel like I'm comparing myself to Peter's work. If anything its an inspiration, his style is so strong and it works with orks so well. I love it!

photoshop cs2 and I use a wacom tablet. They're pretty cool, but take some getting used to

well mine turned out to be crap so i took the "too dakka or not too dakka picture and TRIED to color it so its done

its not a bad first attempt, you weren't scared to try cell shading, my first digital works were monstrously bad. Keep working on it, and playing around, and searching tutorials, you'll find that this type of art can come quickly with a bit of serious consideration

your style really works here, the vibrant colours really bring out the right character. love the lineart, so detailed, how do you get to the final lineart, underdrawings etc (photoshop?). i'm just about to try a couple of pics like this myself (using traditional media), and if you could share any wisdom it would be much appreciated.

I'd have to give you a WIP sketch, which I could do, I was thinking of doing a lineart strategy sketch for an ork shoota that would outline all my tricks, and that probably would do really well. For traditional media I've always used Micron 005 and 01 pens, nice fine clean detail, varying the heaviness of the lines adds depth and dimension.
I'll throw that shoota up in scraps and you'll see what I mean

no worries, I haven't been commiting myself to anything big art-wise today, just working on minor projects and sketches. Speaking of which, I feel sketchy right now. Very sketchy!
