Loyal

Zailey is an extremely loyal dog. Once she forms a bond with a human or another animal, she is devoted to them heart and soul. She will protect when she needs to protect and she will comfort when she needs to comfort. Zailey is very loving, but will dive in to save a loved one without a second thought.

Trusting

Zailey is very trusting of others. It sometimes gets her into trouble and makes her seem naive, but it's just in her nature to trust. She wants to give everyone a chance! So far, no one has truly betrayed Zailey's trust and thus, she hasn't been given much reason to not trust others. She's also a bit of a people-pleaser. It would break her little heart if and when someone does ruin the streak she's had going.

Brave

She may not look it, but Zailey is actually incredibly brave. She isn't confrontational, by any means, but she is not afraid to stand up for herself or for her loved ones. She also loves to explore and doesn't give it much thought if danger could possibly be present. This also makes her a bit of a daredevil and she doesn't mind getting a little dirty now and then. She'll do anything to fetch her prized purple tennis ball...

Affectionate

Zailey, in either form, is loving and warm towards others. In human form, it comes out as a warm embrace or a kiss on the cheek. In dog form, however, it's a tackle to the ground and doggy kisses all over your face. She loves belly rubs and ear scratches the best! Contact with another animal or human makes Zailey very, very happy. She especially loves children.

History:

Zailey had a pretty good life growing up and really didn't have much to complain about. She was born in a litter of five pups--she being the second youngest. She grew up playing with her two brothers and two sisters in a nice little suburban home with polished wood floors (that made Zailey slip and slide all over), two human children and a big, open backyard. Zailey was always a playful pup and rather mischievous at times, getting into things like the dog food bag in the garage when someone left the door open or digging in the potted plants and trailing soil around the house. But regardless, even if she got a good scolding, Zailey felt loved and safe.

As she grew, Zailey learned what humans liked and didn't like. She learned to mind her manners (but sometimes liked to still beg under the table in hopes one of the kids would feed her a scrap or two) and she learned that good behavior earned her belly rubs and the occasional treat. Her mother was a very good example to Zailey and her siblings too. Even so, Zailey did have a moment of rebellion now and again, being the teenager that she was, but overall, she wanted to be a very good girl. She was gifted with a purple tennis ball for Christmas one year for being so good (even though she had been the one who grabbed the tinsel and ran through the house with it. She blamed it one of her brothers) and it has been her prized possession ever since.

Once Zailey turned 20, she and her siblings (except her little sister) started to venture out more and more. There was so much more to this world and they needed to explore it! So, while her little sister decided to stay behind with their mother, Zailey, her two brothers and her older sister struck out on their own paths to find something bigger and maybe better. Zailey loved traveling, but started to miss the fun and the comfort that came from being with others. Pawsville was the place she happened upon when she was starting to fall into despair. It was a new start and there were others just like her! Now Zailey is out and about, ready to make new friends and hopefully find a new home.

Extra information:

Zailey LOVES food. Loves it. If she weren't such an active pup, she'd be a chunker by now. She will sometimes beg for food, against her better judgment, so if you're not up for sharing, do your best to ignore those puppy-dog eyes.

There's a certain spot on Zailey's belly that is just right. It's also one of her sensitive spots...if you catch my drift. You'll have to find out for yourself where that spot is.

Zailey sometimes forgets she's a big dog. She will climb onto your lap and lay her fluffy self there until you shove her off. She just likes being near people.

There isn't much that scares Zailey, but cats really get to her. She didn't grow up with any cats and she's still unsure what they actually are. She can't help but avert her gaze when one looks at her and she whines when they're in her way. How are you supposed to get past them when they look at you like that?
