Description
Created an initial sketch using several Franquin illustrations as reference. Decided to do a more complete colouring and shading job for the fun of it. (iPad Pro, Autodesk SketchBook Pro)Related content

Marsipulami-very famous character from the French cartoon, if I remember correctly.

I'm not really familiar with the Marsupilami cartoons, other than being aware of their existence. The Belgian comics artist AndrΓ© Franquin created the character during his tenure with Spirou & Fantasio. I've used his work as reference when creating this piece.

I really like the classic cartoonish art style mixed with a little bit of realism. Kinda like old Disney cartoons

Marsupilami is a Disney character.

Actually this isn't entirely accurate. Disney did license the character, and produced a few cartoons with it. The character itself however was created by the late Belgian comic artist AndrΓ© Franquin.

Thanks! I was a bit curious as to how the colouring and shading would work, since my original sketch was quite rough. I think it kinda worked, even if it lost a bit of the energy.Β
