I may have grown up with the first movie but Mewtwoβs Origin short before the movie was something I only recently came across and by god as if I already didnβt feel bad enough for Mewtwo ;-;

Well, I remember that his memory was wiped, when he started loosing control over himself, over deaths of the girl and the three pokemon. And even then I think his memories KINDA returned? Not in full, though.

More like they wiped his memories of it happening but his maelstrom of emotions were still there so he was still unstable and having no idea whyΒ

More like he was put in a deeper sleep but it was because he was so unbalanced that he was set off so easily when he actually emerged from that container and blew them all up, being seen as a lab rat was just the straw to break the camelβs back

No, I remember his memories were WIPED. He was in dream-like stasis at ALL times. What made him upset is that the pokemon clones and Amber were fading from the dreamscape he was in.
The only damn thing I was able to find.
Mewtwo wasn't upset BEFORE. He GOT upset when Amber left. So, to keep him from tearing himself apart - they wiped his memory.

Yeah they wiped his memory of that but his emotions were still there but because he couldnβt remember he wasnβt freaking out, again itβs why he lashed out so fast. The western dub kind of changed that so itβs more vague but itβs initially part of mewtwoβs Motivation but the Americans wanted to make it a simpler good vs bad sort of thing and tried to make Mewtwo less sympatheticΒ

For me it neve made Mewtwo bad. Mind you, I'm Russian, so I didn't watch the original. If I knew the language - I would choose to watch the original.
The point I'm making - while I thought that Mewtwo might have been wrong in trying to take on humanity - he still definetly had REASONS to do so.
