I'll say this: I hated Coco (loved the animation, liked that my culture was represented, but I am tired of the "strong independent woman who needs no man (and fracks up her kids' childhood and entire life by forcing them to forget their fathers because she believes it's her right)"-philosophy that plagues my society lately (luchonas mothers)), but your comics and concepts are making this be one of the two movies that I don't like, but that I absolutely love seeing fanart of (the other being Zootopia, as I didn't like the extreme clichΓ©s they put on the final "family-friendly-product" instead of the dark noir film that talked about otherness and the real phenomenon of objectivization of the "other" it was going to be).
You are amazing in giving concepts that make me feel for the characters that I almost despised in the film, and on top of that your ideas make it be more a thing about discovering oneself and one's family than it was in the film (with Hector being able to continue learning with his family by keeping the ability to see them after his adventure), which drives home the point of "You're never alone, your family is with you" that Dia de los muertos really is.
Even the parts I dislike, like the physical humor of the chancla that is always in Mexican things, you do it in such way that it's actually funny and it doesn't leave me feeling like it's just a way to mock hitting a kid, but like actual comedy that makes you laugh instead of cringe.
I love how you put them like a family with goofiness and love, and not like the hiper stuck up matriarch and the outsider father (who did nothing wrong btw).
Just, I love what you've manage to do with your art.
