basically an early concept of Miguel has him in a blue charro suit and his name actually used to be Marco, so some folks have come up with an alternate Miguel who really was the great-great-grandson of Ernesto De La Cruz, maybe even have him as an anti-Miguel, so I present Marco De La Cruz vs Miguel Rivera XDbut don't ship them please, I do not want a Sanscest thing happening again..plus they're kids, so grossΒ

Since the trailers I knew there was gonna be skeletons(heh) in Ernesto closets, its a clique the beloved idol that isnt so lovely in person, so I was guessing Miguel journey was gonna revolve around being blessed by his proud ancestor but also revealing some mystery that would shattered all his belief on this figure that made him who he is, so the lesson maybe would be about dealing with the missteps of your kins not negating the goodness that came from them.
Stil was a magical experience the actual movie when i saw it, my family very much thought so; great picture-you can see the difference between smugness and pride from them.
