Honestly, I don't know what I expected... That eyepatch thing might be going a little too far though, Chara... Do they really want something with Undyne's essence imbued in it following them around?

I bet it confers a significant power boost, same as all the other equipment -- which was also dropped by dead folks. Of course, those were humans, but Undyne the (not) Undying is probably a close enough fit to work the same way DETERMINATION-wise.

Humans don't turn to dust when they die, and (at least to me) the power boost the human gets with those items equipped seems to be based of how equipping them feels psychologically, not whether or not someone's essence is imbued in the object. We don't know anything about what effect imbuing a monster's essence into an object does, but even still, Chara at least seemed to have some respect for Undyne in the Genocide Route. It seems a little disrespectful to her passing that Chara would just pass off her eye-patch to Buddy (from my point of view).
