I impulse bought the DVD back in 2014 and still haven't watched it yet, but I think Niko is adorable! You drew him really well!

I honestly never got anyone's complaint about the family dynamic of the movie. I actually found it quite admirable that it showed a different family structure than the average Mom and Dad ( Not to mention it's more realistic! )

I know it as "Niko, lentäjän poika" which means "Niko, a flyer's son". Name maybe came from a Finnish song called "lentäjän poika" which was running in radios about 2 years around the time when that movie was coming up.
Movie was lovely, maybe I should watch it again :3

Remember it? Did a freaking essay-length review of it last year, and it largely inspired some original works that are still under construction after three-odd years.
Long story short: it's definitely a movie you need to see more than once, because some aspects don't become clear until after the second time. Like the idea that Prancer had no way of knowing Niko even existed, or that Julius is trying to compensate for the loss of his son by taking care of Niko.
The main thing I remember, though, is that despite it having a pre-teen main character, the conflicts are more akin to what you'd expect of a teenager-led movie. Niko is huge compared to Julius; that squirrel has zero hope of stopping the kid except by talking.
It's definitely an acquired taste, though: Niko himself is more of a cautionary tale than a role model. You definitely don't want your kids to make his mistakes.

I had a dream after watching that as a kid. The sled scene when the wolf is trying to get him only it was me in the sleigh and I couldn't fly XD
