For my Color Theory course at school we were asked to do an achromatic/monochromatic digital painting.

My choice is an old image from Akira Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai. If you can remember this scene from the film the sky behind them was completely solid light grey overcast. Doing this all on my new Intuo3 wacom tablet as further practice. I removed the dull overcast and added a achromatic sunset as the backgroup. The monochromatic portion was in shades of orange to bring engery, warmth and excitement from the samurai while paying homage to the original poster design monochromatic color of orange as well.
