Description
Believe it or not, there are two comics that depict a Zootropolis version of sci-fi classic RoboCop; one by and the other by , both commissioned by , though the idea was originally done by ShoNuff on FurAffinity. Despite seeming like an odd combo, the idea intrigued me, and I decided to give my own spin on the 'RoboHopps' in my Freedomverse story-line, which I will do in the future. For now, I've done a drawing of RoboHopps here, with a white colouring and red and blue stripes on the arms, to signify her as a policewoman. I've done her without her mask here, and I may do her with it later on.
Judy Hopps belongs to Disney. RoboCop belongs to Orion Pictures.
UPDATE: now done a version with the helmet on:Β sta.sh/02c9n9339f1s

The stripes break the white part of the arms beautifully. Good job!

Thanks. I was wondering whether the visor should retractable, like in the reboot, or should at least start like in the original.
Also, just an idea; reckon youβd be up for doing Thomas, RoboHopps, Nick and Carmelita fighting together or something?

Maybe someday. I need to read your story first after all

I remember those Robohopps comics. Its neat you include her on your own Xover Earth.

Glad you think so.
Youβve read them, then? What do you think of them?

I'm planning to incorporate the world of Zootropolis into my world; the idea being that the original 'Zootropolis' was actually Mobotropolis. In the wake of Robotnik's takeover, a new Zootropolis has been established in Eurish, the only continent completely free of Robotnik's control.

And Judy, Nick and the rest are part of a new continental police force intended to safeguard the citizens; Carmelita Fox is part of it too.

I was wondering how Judy and Nick could meet in this world. I recently thought that maybe, during the Great War, Nick and his family were held as prisoners, with shock collars (a homage to the original concept); when they were fled and moved to Eurish, Nick resorted to a life of shifty actions, mainly to scrape a living and out of a meaning that was all he could do. That is, until Judy came along and helped him find hope again.

That could possibly work.

Also, you know amnesia is a very overused plot device? I was thinking; maybe Judy could simply have some memories, plus her emotions, repressed. These particular memories pertain to her friends and family.

Ok, that can work. I am not fond of the overuse of amnesia either. Only in rare cases it can actually work nowadays.

Hereβs my idea for an alternate to amnesia:
After Judy is converted into RoboHopps, she goes through the process Murphy did at the beginning of RoboCop 2 and in your comic - convinced that she cannot be a daughter to her parents, or a girlfriend to Nick, or a friend to Thomas. Due to the trauma of almost dying, she believes them. So, she accepts her memories of them, as well as her emotions, being suppressed, feeling it's for the best. But Nick and Thomas won't have it, and they're determined to remind Judy of the confident rabbit she once was.
Sound interesting? Does it sound natural for Judy? Because Jason Bateman reckoned that should a Zootropolis sequel come out, Nick could help Judy in the same way she helped him; regain her confidence in the world.

I also thought that maybe, when Thomas tries to uncover the truth, he gets in trouble with the law, he and Nick go on the run, and RoboHopps goes after them; rather like in the original draft for Zootropolis.

I intend to let readers get to know Judy a considerable amount before she becomes RoboHopps. My idea is that Thomas meets her and Nick when leased to aid the Mercia Freedom Fighters and the police in a case; and during that time, we see Judy's story in flashback. But we could also have a few little short stories where we see Judy's charming personality. All this will make her cybernetic conversion all the more emotional.
What compelling reason could the Knothole Freedom Fighters have to journey to Eurish (where Mercia is) to aid their allies? Would it be worth leaving their base in Knothole? I don't want to contrive a reason.

At least something only the Freedom Fighters of knothole how to handle, something they have dealt with before and lived where only few others have succeeded. Not sure what.

I've decided that the mission will be in pursuit of Sleet, Dingo and Darth Noir; Sleet and Dingo will be secretly delivering information on Robotnik to their allies in Eurish.
Also, I was thinking that though Judy will have trouble adjusting to her condition, she will still retain a sense of her confident self, and she will receive happiness.

Iβve also thought of how Iβd do the tone; the original RoboCop was known for its over-the-top violence and gore, but I feel that wouldnβt fit in the world of Sonic the Hedgehog, especially with Zootropolis characters. It will be serious and violent when it needs to be, mind; not too comedic, but I want to go for a more emotion-focussed and dramatic approach.

I haven't seen the robocop movies in a long time so I don't remember a lot. I remember this one guy being drenched in chemicals and being liquified once they run into him with a car.

BTW, my avatar will be a big part of this story, but given the, well, violent nature of RoboCop, I wonder if it would make sense, in-universe, for a twelve-year-old boy to be involved with police work, even if he is a Freedom Fighter?

Tails Prower is a thing, he is literally fighting in a war. Tails is a Chaos adept (a coin that me and several others have termed for Mobians with special gifts) and a high IQ. If your avatar has a gift or skills that compensate for his size and age, it could work.

Yeah, actually, that is a good point. My avatar is a Force sensitive, and is becoming a Jedi. So yeah, it can.
But do you reckon in my stories, I could address the child soldier issue?

Cool. Also, as Carmelita is part of this story as well, this whole thing is going to really test her black-and-white mindset.
Why not?

KivaTheDCWizard In reply to TCH2 [2020-01-24 11:58:26 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it will raise some important questions.
Because i'm afraid I will give the wrong answers. In real life most people would be against it, but in a fictional universe we have many kid heroes whom go through danger. There is a reason why they fight but is it right to question this in-universe? Maybe if they are unwililng or forced then yes it shoudl be addressed...there are just so many grey areas and so many things I feel I could wrong and at the same time if we feel if we address it would it take away from the franchises itself? I am overthinking this.

Of course, it is good if something provokes thought. But the question is how to address it withouth shoving it in people's faces.
