that, and the Banshee wasn't all that useful outside the Dark Zone, and even in the Dark Zone it's not a "top tier" gear set, unless running in a group.

True, I never ran in groups that often (or spent a long time in the Dark Zone except for a few times) to really get the top tier stuff. I just get whatever drops that is high score or useful nowadays

Occasionally I do venture into the DZ, thoughΒ usually after I've done a successful Survival run or got bored completing the Legendary missions and Incursions.
True, there's not really that drive for me to get the best items since the stuff I already get outside of the DZ is pretty neato enough without having to worry about getting ganked by Rogues, and I don't feel any pull to get stuck in on PvP (which let's be honest isn't that well refined atm). Hopefully that'll change when we get into TD2.

Agreed, I just don't enjoy the PvP experience (and frankly not much excitement on the PvE portion). I mainly just do the nightly Assignments, the Combat and Crafting task. I used to go to one of the DZ entrances and snipe the various AI Rikers and Rioters but that location has changed slightly that I don't bother anymore. It's like the game doesn't have much to interest me that much and doing the tasks only takes up twenty minutes or so. I used to be a fan of the Underground but as of late I'm as said, just doing the Assignments and that's it for me. As for gear I'm of the same opinion, I got good enough gear to weather AI attacks so while I'm looking for a good military P416 in a higher score than what I have, I'm not looking for higher gear.

Survival runs are why I'd revisit the game once a week or two, just so it doesn't get stale. That first 10 minutes after the chopper crash can be one of the most intense and thus rewarding as you frantically look around for useful gear and weapons, since that could determine whether I can make it into the DZ and extract with the antivirals or get clobbered by a random Rioter before I even see the DZ walls.
After I finally completed my Lonestar Classified set and had a blast (and hurt my wrist) with the Berserker talent, there's not much more for me to grind/farm for. I've gotten to the point where I'm trying out the non-meta guns, like the P416 and ACR.
I'm not even bothering with the sniper rifles and related gearsets since I suck at that.

Frankly the P416 is my favorite gun, I have my Stash with every level so I don't have to go searching for one. It's to me one of the best guns in the game personally. As for the ACR its okay I guess, I ran with it for a bit but went back to my P416. I'll even not use higher scored weapons if my P416 works, which it does. I used to roll with an AR and a Sniper rifle in the PvE portion and sometimes in the DZ but now i carry a shotgun as a secondary weapon but rarely use it.
I haven't done any survival missions as it doesn't interest me honestly. The game is getting old and i keep it around due to Friday night swaps of guns that I'm hoping to increase my gear score at least with a higher P416 but as said the daily assignments is what keeps my interest. Even then I don't do some anyway. I don't know, it's still a good game but all that work I put into my character I just don't want to abandon just yet.

Kinda. Since I mainly play PvE, I would not want to miss it. Paired with the Famas or a good MG you can easily tear through most enemys without many problems. Any perks on your gun that restore your magazine? Practically almost unstoppable.
Currently working on a classified Banshee set for PvP though, I am interested how that is going to turn out.

PvP hasn't been my thing since I don't have a squad or anyone to play with regularly enough to survive prolonged periods of times in the DZ.Β
Though my wrist kinda hurt holding down that trigger/LMB and keeping the recoil in check as I let rip.

I actually still do, I like to rock Full Classified Lonestar for my MG's and Full Striker Classified for my normal set.

I've been using Lonestar Classified more often since I can't be assed to keep clicking or reloading. Just unload on them with dual MG5s and expend ammo like its free.

Oh to live somewhere with guns galore. I'd love to go to a firing range someday and actually handle even half of the stuff I draw.

I guess from the outsider perspective it does seem like gun crime is rampant, but I suppose that's just more so in certain states and neighborhoods.
