Description
My fan art contest submission for a particular mobile game I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about if you've spent a significant enough time on the Internet. But before we go on, a word from our sponsor RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS !
I don't think I've done fantasy style armor in awhile (or ever?) so this was a fun challenge to do. I'll definitely do more.
Gotta give props to the design team behind the game, they've got decent array of characters (which you can view all in 360 at pretty good detail without even having to unlock them beforehand) with some unique designs (between the few reskins). There's a lot of bikini armors and all the ladies wear heels (if that's something you're against) but otherwise it's a pretty good source of reference imo.
=======
UPDATE!
Managed to get 3rd place (or 9th place depending on how you look at it) in the Raid Shadow Legends Fan Art Contest!

Wicked work on their poses, even if the game is astonishingly less animated then this scene

Thanks. This scene was my attempt to represent how my Arena team does battle, in the order of when these champions attack.
The bottom right champion "High Khatun" goes first, rallying her teammates to attack swiftly. The top right champion "Warmaiden" follows, breaking down the enemy team's defenses. "Athel", a knight from the Sacred Order at the bottom left, calls upon higher blessing to bolster her attack, then calls down a rain of divine blades to cut down her enemies. Finally, "Relickeeper" swoops in, surging with strength and knocks out anyone left standing one after the other with his battle hammer.

Except Warmother, she is barefoot....and someone who definitively you don't want to look for too long.
but she is my only LEGENDARY on my FTP account, so........welp. I am screwed.
Awesome art by the way.

I've gotten 5 Legendary Champions so far without spending a single dollar, either through lucky shard pulls such as Foli (my first Legendary Champion), Big 'Un, and Maulie Tankard, while Rhazin and Cillian were fused. Of these, Rhazin, Foli, and Big 'Un are quite useful.Β
Hang in there m8, you'll get some decent Champions sooner or later.
And thanks!

welp, at least it's ta bomb...hehe XD
yeah, I hope so, I am getting the ones to make Rhazin happen. His kit is kinda all purpose and welp, he can take and dish out some.
I am kinda currently making Meme Lord Var-Gall, to see if at least is a sponge carry....outside Faction Wars. and Kinda see it-s impact on a free to play account....that has only 1 legendary.
You're welcome!

Ah RAID, the game that drew me in with reasonable female armour, then gave me nothing but warmaidens and bloodbraids. This is very good work! I like all the details you put in, I knew instantly who they all were. You've got like half my team up there!
Athel and Relickeeper FTW! The High Khatun is good, but I prefer Lightsworn and Astralith myself. I do NOT like Warmaiden.

It's not a bad game, visuals wise. That bit at least the ads is mostly true.
It's also great that the champions can be viewed 360 so it's great for reference.
This is my main Arena team, and this team has served me well so far and I've invested so much in them.
What's wrong with High Khatun or Warmaiden? Their designs? Or abilities?

You know, you're right. The visuals were what got me hooked. I saw a bunch of ads with Athel and Frostbringer and Tallia before I started playing, so I did feel a bit cheated when I only got characters like warmaiden and bloodbraid.Β Since then I've gathered a bunch of characters more to my preferences, so it's all good.
I know! I thought that was so cool when I found the Index. If only I could draw, I'd be using the game for references all the time. They're got everything from billhooks to zweihanders, lamellar and maile to full plate! It's a medieval enthusiasts dream!
I don't mind High Khatun, she's fast and hits hard. She's in my top 8 for sure, just behind Astralith and ahead of Warden. She would definetly be in my arena team if it weren't for Astralith.Β Astralith is a beast, she's got the same speed boost (albeit just in arena) and can swap her health with the enemy's. She also always goes immediatly after receiving a heavy blow, so if someone hits her hard enough to just leave a sliver of health, she immediatly swaps thier health with her own and kills them regardless of whose turn it is. She also has a strike that puts 2 1-turn bombs on an enemy, which takes out any shamans before they can raise thier fallen comrades.Β
Warmaiden has some good moves, I have to respect her abilities and she hits way over her weight class for sure. I just...can't wth her outfit. I hate it so much. Never been a fan of Red Sonja outfits to begin with (I mean, IRL people who live in deserts cover up to protect from the sun and sand, not the opposite) but she's in tall heels to boot! I mean, the supposed advantage of running into battle naked is speed right? High heels kind of negate that. So she's not a bad character, and I'll never judge someone for putting her in thier team, but I won't use her.Β
Congrats on your win BTW! I got excited when I saw your name up there.Β Β

I can't remember much of who or why I decided to play RSL (as for when this was I think early last year after previous X-mas event), but I'm sorta glad I did since for no other reason than the Index being a treasure trove of reference. Seriously, that alone should be marketed to artists like me the way I use sites like tanks.gg for similar purposes. Now if only there was an offline mode...
I don't have Astralith myself, though I have a couple of Legendaries acquired recently that I'm still trying to piece together for a suitable Arena team without having to resort to make my own spreadsheets and such. I'm a filthy F2P casual after all.
The Barbarians are quite guilty on the bikini armor front (not that my lizard brain is complaining), but I suspect that's just following the design trope of the fantasy style barbarians like the Hyborian setting. And exposing more skin is undeniably more appealing to the majority market of fans of such fantasies.
I've noticed that ALL the female champions (other than the Dwarves and War Mother) wear high heels, so that's at least consistent.
Thanks! I was perplexed that evening when I suddenly got a huge amount of Energy and some Ancient Shards (all gone after the x2 Ancient Shard summoning rates is this weekend) [Also, got no new Legendary champs other than Maulie Tankard, who helped upgrade a skill on the Maulie I already had]

Oh man, I never noticed! Now I do, cause I'm looking for it, and even Athel has high heeled boots. Granted some are much more moderate compared to others, but they are definetly heels!
I'm a freebie too! The amazon prime giveaway thing was amazing until the stupid game glitched and won't let me claim them any more. I've asked for support, but I think they're content to just let the time run out without helping me.

I sometimes depict women in heels, but nothing remotely resembling ballet heels - I prefer drawing more(?) practical footwear, rather like what you have depicted here.

What I meant to say were those sheer stilettos. I'd love to see someone fighting while wearing ballet point shoes (tho iirc there's a heroine in LoL that literally has knives for feet which is kinda similar idea)
