Description
A recon team sits patiently in the grass, scanning the area for hostile threats and relaying info back to HQ. The sniper peers through the scope and pans across the area, finger always off the trigger, knowing a shot would do more harm than good. The spotter alternates between his binocular and the tablet, marking each house, boulder, ditch, rock, tree, anything that could be used as cover by the opposition. He takes note of distance, elevation, wind speed and direction, and other info so as to be able to relay this his partner if the need arises. He'll swap roles with him in a few minutes, so as to give his partner time to rest his eyes.
Probably my first fully digital drawing, it's not the best, and i still have a lot to learn, but i'll do my best to learn and improve.Β
Done on Bamboo tablet in Photoshop CS5
And oh yeah I recently reached 25,000 pageviews! How cool is that?
UPDATE
Fixed the 'cannon', nerfed it to a suppressed sniper rifle

In the game: You rush and break enemy lines.
In real war: Camping is the way to go.

games like CoD are meant for people with such short attention spans and zero patience. simulations like ARMA are as close as it gets (short of actual death and all)
this is why i can't do well in CoD and why i prefer World of Tanks. because it's just cool to be able to fight in tanks.
also because i'd be a little too tall to be fighting in actual tanks T.T

That grass must have taken forever, it looks great though and the ghillies blend nicely.

it did take some time, since i wasn't used to doing grass. i was going to leave the area behind them clear so you could see them better, but then i thought that's not a good idea since any sniper would know not to give it's silhouette by staying on top of a ridge. but it ended up making it harder to see them clearly. so i guess the ghillies did do the job then

Haha, good progress Thomas xP
Loving the multicam and the grass, the colors for the later may be a bit saturated, but you'll learn how to use colors properly with practice. X)

yeah i'm not all that satisfied with the grass. this was just some random doodle on the tablet that just turned into this. the ghillie suits and grass was actually an afterthought XP i had wanted to show how the ghillie suits help them blend somewhat in the grass, but i wasn't sure how to balance the colors and shades better, since i wanted them to still be somewhat visible so you can still see them but not in an obvious way
im pretty sure i could have done this differently, and i do need to practice more. still a total scrub on how to blend colors well. not my best work, and i should have kept it simpler XP

The only thing that bugs me about this awesome drawing is the perspective and dimensions of the rifle. I see what you were going for, but it just kind of doesn't translate well with the angle of the drawing imo.
