Description
Shit hit the fan during the exfiltration. The security forces on the artificial island had responded far quicker than expected, and Alpha team only managed to set up half the number of sensors before they had to abort. Bravo Team was able to place all of their underwater sensors, and covered Alpha's withdrawal to the EZ they had secured. Despite sustaining some wounded, both teams managed to reach the SDVs they'd stashed nearby and attempted to evade their pursuers. They were on their way to the submarine when one of those black coffins failed, and the occupants had to ditch them in the cold pitch black waters. But one of them got stuck and was knocked unconscious when the submersible collided with the sea floor. Thankfully, their mermaid managed to reach her in time and save her from drowning.
You can be sure she's never going to let that down.

More character/story exploration. This is where the mermaid returns the favour from a previous scene .
It kinda helped that I took a lifeguard training course a few years ago, and am also a certified lifeguard coach, that I sorta based off of some of the stuff I learned such as how to do the sidestroke while carrying someone. It's a lot harder than it looks and very awkward, but also helps if the victim is unconscious (they're less likely to struggle and interfere). But it does allow you to see where you're going unlike a backstroke and far more efficient than a breaststroke (the need to keep your head above the water while also keeping hold of the victim).
The swim style of the sidestroke is pretty much the same as the combat sidestroke (CCS) that the Navy SEALs developed, reducing the body's profile while swimming on the surface.
Sorta reminds me to practice this more.

It's all your damn fault! XD
The original idea was that they'd be on the surface, and so parts of them would be submerged. Maybe I'll revisit that in the future.

Definitely not gonna call her Ariel XD
No, I haven't come up with names yet. I wanted something meaningful without being too on the nose about it.

Could probably have a short quip in the next piece that she really hates the codename "Ariel"
