Butterscotch (c) Me!Yup, I've had a new character banging around my head lately. I plan to show more of her in the future, but for now here's a nice standing image of her. This character is an odd combination of inspirations that can be found to have a root over at the Housepets comic (www.housepetscomic.com/ ). Of course, inspired by the comic, I had to come up with my own character suitable for the world. Of course after I was done I realized that I would never use her there, so I altered the style a bit so she could fit into a standard "furry" world. I mean sure, I could fan-fic her into the comic, but I've done that once already with Ponies, don't need to go crazy with another one, ya?
Anyway, she's a Dachshund mix breed and college student. She's studying forensic sciences in hopes of joining the police force, as encouraged by an officer who stumbled over talent. Specifically she has an incredibly powerful and sensitive nose, allowing her to track people and animals with an incredible accuracy. Unfortunately her usual bubbly personality doesn't really gell well with most police, and apparently she's inadvertently bumping a few other officers who were eyeing the spot that's now being reserved for her. So she has a few enemies she's made unknowingly.
Anyway, enjoy what I have so far. When I get another one done, I might even explain how the bloody heck she got the name "Butterscotch", which is only partially related to her actual fur color (which is the appropriate color for the name). A quick shout out to Sashi for helping me name her tho. ^_^
As always, comments, critiques, and feedback are welcome and encouraged!

Lessons Learned: Hands are still hard. Feet are still hard. Dachshund heads are a flipping nightmare. I've been working for two weeks to get that head right, and even then extreme angles stump me. I did have fun adding a little touch that most folks won't see, but other artists might: I intentionally modified her proportions to suit the type of dog she is. Her waist/torso is slightly longer than it should be, and her legs and arms are slightly shorter than they should be. Seems appropriate given how long bodied and short limbed Dachshunds are...
