But personally, I'm one of those people who has minimal qualms about anything... For the worse - or better.

Anyway, this is my finished fanart for Spec Ops: The Line (a GotY in my opinion, if for the amazing direction of this game), which I'd like to tribute to my buddy and another big fan of the game, a soldier like meself, . And to anyone actually, that can relate.

Here's Captain Walker and Sergeant Lugo after the infamous willie pete scene. I screwed up the right arm of Walker but lets say it's warped perpective.

One of better pieces from the latest batch, and one that was a delight and relaxation to paint.

Comment and critique.

Update: Fixed minor issues according to watcher feedback, mainly Lugo's head, Walker's gun arm and the mask.

Yes. I always imagined him knowing that what he did was necessary, but realizing how it may seem from the outside, and that noone would ever understand his motivations and actions if hed fail to accomplish the big goal.Thats why he couldnt stop, and pushed on despite all - becauss he knew that only accom9lishing the evacuation and confronting Konrad would redeem him to others and himself.

I agree with you there.

I think Walker pushed himself forward because he couldn't accept the fact that what he did was wrong and knew that people would only see him as a monster, something he didn't want to become. So he tried to justify his actions, his 'evil' if you will, by projecting it as Konrad's fault and that by getting to Konrad everything would be A-OK. So now, to prove that this 'evil' wasn't his, he went on to confront Konrad for his own crimes.

But in the end, no matter how you look at it, he simply made it worse until he either embraced being the 'monster' he had become and accepted the fact that this was all his fault to begin with, or had given up and lost who he really is trying to persuade himself that he's not to blame even when Konrad had given him the 'talk'. It's up to you to decide which one is worse I guess.

I do try to make every comment count, and make a point to appreciate the art for what it is. And besides, wouldn't want to piss off the great white shark of dA especially after he just posted a journal about how pissed he gets when people completely disregard his work effort and bitch about why their favorite 40k faction is better. To do so, I believe, is a death wish.

good i love this game it was by far one if not the best game i have ever played from the story to the characters it lacks what the "realistic"(not enuff quotes in the world for that)games

Good rendering, as always. However, I feel like that palm tree in the background is an unintentional focus point, and my eyes seem to keep being drawn towards it. I would have made it a little lighter in value, to stop this from happening.

It's the detail of the two men in the foreground and the simplicity of the background that I absolutely love. And the colourscheme compliments itself. No matter what chaos they're experiencing the green gives it an eerily comforting feel.

Ah yes Spec ops the line, some my have ask them self, why do I do this? (why doesn't give me the game more options, like just to give dubai the middlefinger and go home) Well there is an option put the game done an let it be and your Walker goes home.

The good about this pic is that you have noticed that I goes always down, down the rope, down the stairs and so on. The reflection of this is that the upper half of the picture is dominated by the skyline, good intuition if its ain't a coincidence.

Very meaning full game indeed.

Nice to see the WIPs coming to a satisfying conclusion.
Obviously, the colours in this are up to your usual standard, especially with the khaki and the skin tones on the characters. I really do like the downcast look in Walker's eyes, since I can imagine burning people to death would cause a person to question their actions, and the shadow on Lugo's face is especially nice. The deifnitions on the fabrics and armour is especially nice.
The non-solidness(?) of the dead bodies and the fading of the buildings in the background really show the maddening feature of the game. Or so I'm led to believe.
My only qualm is Lugo's hat. It just doesn't seem like it was given as much attention as it could have.

A somewhat colorful drawn environment for a game like that, but this worked out rather well. I also fucking love the amount of details you put on Walker's armor and weapon.
The only thing that really bugs me, is that Lugo's head seems a bit botched up.
