Description
The skies were pure and the fields were green
And the sun was brighter than it's ever been
It was always summer and the future called
We were ready for adventures and we wanted them all
And there was so much left to dream and so much time to make it real
The stars would glimmer and the moon would glow
I'm in the back seat with my Julie like a Romeo
And the signs along the highway all said, "Caution! Kids At Play!"
She used her body just like a bandage, she used my body just like a wound
I'll probably never know where she disappeared
But I can see her rising up out of the back seat now
Just like an angel rising up from a tomb
But it was all so long ago and it was far away .. Oh, God, it seems so very far!
And if life is just a highway, then the soul is just a car
And objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are
Oh, objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are

Wonderful, warming portrait... The hair make such a sweet framing to that lovely face!

Have I mentioned that it's good to see your face over here, Vashek?...
You know me with the "warmth", Brother .. it's always the largest lump of paint on my palette. I guess if daily life were not so cold always .. I might add a little less to the worlds I try to create. .. or perhaps not!
Yes, I really adore the way the hair rendered here. The texture and depth draw ya' right into that mesmerizing gaze.
I hope you're enjoying setting up shop! It was fun building an archival gallery here, where works do not fade into oblivion after a few days. The more you invest here and work that investment the greater the payoff.
Enjoy!
With dear warmth,
Terry

Well, there's more than just my face here, Terry... If you mean my mug shot, I have actually had this one at Rendo for a while... There should appear a situation to take a newer one, but for some reason, I'm always standing on the wrong side of the camera...
Take care my friend!

Yes .. I know!.. I found scratches on one of my portraits yesterday. Just like here in my house .. where five of them choose to hang out.
I've not been over to Ren' in a long while. The last couple of times they were still kicking back the 503 Forbidden error .. what is it .. two years of that BS without a fix now? It just reminded me of a mix of things that really turned me cold over there. But, enuff of dat!
I see you've re-packaged yourself with a new tag. Is that 100 Proof?
With dear warmth,
Terry

Yes Terry, I decided to change that messy previous tag... Vas64hekP - how easy to pronounce and remember is that? I'm not completely sure about the new one yet, it was a sudden idea that came to my mind, so why not go for it... Now I have a half year to ponder about if it's right or wrong!

It has a good 'brand' quality to it, the new name. & It is playful which helps people remember it.
I was going to go with TR Bolan here, but decided to keep Tea Rex because it has recognition after all this time and like yours is lighthearted. With yours I believe that people will immediately or quickly associate it with your style of art because it resonates with confidence as do all your portrayals.
So .. as you can tell .. I like it.

Oh, people have already misspelled my new username as well... I might have taken something very simple and very easy to both pronounce and remember - like Tea-Rex... That sound both majestic and humorous... I might take Tea-Kex (or Tea-Bicscuit, as you say in English)... By the way, is your avatar showing your real face, or is it a taken photo? I'm so used to see either Spartacus or Tom Hulce in your avatars, that I don't dare to believe this might be you...

Cori? Weird, that's my girlfriends name too! I'm think I've fallen for the eyes the most, mainly because they look strikingly similar to my Cori's. Then again they say your viewers find things in your art they relate to, well I found two things, excellent work Rex.

Well, you have the same birthday as my mother .. so we're kinda even.
Your Cori spells her name the same, huh? I have seen it a few different ways. & She has eyes like this?! Oh, man!.. she must get the stone truth out of you every time! Nowhere to hide under the bright illumination of a gaze like that.
There are several other portraits of Cori in the gallery .. you can peek for any other similarities here: [link]
She's a versatile gal' .. and very dear to this fella's heart.
Thanks for coming by and taking the time to share your impressions!
With warm regard,
Terry

Yes, this one is lovely to me also. Even after two and a half years there are qualities here that still endear this portrait to my heart.
The warmth, no surprise to anyone, lights up my eyes every time I return. & The colors are sweetly on the right side of dreamy .. and that hair is just oh so touchable! & Did I mention her eyes?!
Merci, Odile!
May this weekend be inspired and productive for you!
