Hardworking: (of a person) tending to work with energy and commitment; diligent.
Shadowpaw is a hardworking tom, sometimes a little too much. Despite his smarmy attitude, he takes his work very seriously and is a very astute student.

Daring: (of a person or action) adventurous or audaciously bold.
This young tom is not afraid to try new things, being the very reason why he volunteered to go on this expedition. He is not afraid to jump before thinking and doesn't let his fears control him.

Independent: free from outside control; not depending on another's authority.

History:

Kithood 0-6 moons
Lilyfrost and Wavesong had known each other all their lives, but had drifted apart in their training, having been born not too far apart, a strong friendship started early, but when Lilyfrost took the path of a hunter, and Wavesong a warrior, their training sent them in their own circles that meant they didn't often cross paths until their naming ceramony. Thier friendship hit the mark at once, starting back where they had left off as young apprentices, only this time, there was more. They had not oficially declared themselves mates when Lilyfrost found out she was pregnant, though the two were happy enough to finally tie the knot and make it offical.

Not long after, Lillyfrost gave birth to a single kit the pair named Shadowkit for his dark pelt and they perceeded to dote on the young tom. Young Shadowkit loved his parents deeply, prefering the company of them over the other kits. his mother was always present of course, and Wavesong spent as much time as he could with the two cats he loved most whenever he wasn't on patrol. Upon his return, the young kit would dart out of the nursary -- despite his mother's constant nags not to do so-- in order to greet him at the camp entrance and demand to know what all happened. Usually it was pretty boring, but Wavesong was rather good at makign a story at out of anything. For a while, the pair had expected the tom to follow in his father's pawsteps and become a warrior as well. He wasn't quiet as bulky as some of the other kits, but he was young! Shadowkit on the other hand, didn't seem to care one way or the other and refused to declare which he would train under, even when directly asked. At first, this was rather adorable, though as the tom grew older, and his naming ceramony grew closer, it became more of a concern. Honestly, Shadowkit hadn't known which he would choose either, he was more interested in leaving came then hunting or fighting, niether really seemed all that interesting. It was during one particularly hazy afternoon that the tom had snuck out of the nursary while his mother napped to explore the camp that he properly discovered what he wanted. He had accidentially stumbled into the medicine cats' den and had seen all the cats hard at work sorting through herbs, drying them, making all sorts of things, and there were a couple of apprentices listening to an older she-cat. He knew her name only in reputation, Greycloud. She spotted the young kit immedietly, though instead of shooing him away, she allowed him to sit with the others, as long as he didn't get into anything and was quiet during their training. The tom obliged, watchign wide eyes as the older molly went through an exhaustive list of herbs that made his head see stars just thinking about it. From then on, Shadowkit knew what he wanted to do. He found the challange of the herbs and all the combinations to be an interesting puzzle, and of course, he could leave camp to explore and gather them, so it seemed like a perfect fit. His parents were just glad he had managed to make a decision.

Apprenticehood 6-12 moons
Shadowpaw was named an apprentice not long after Fallenstar took over as leader. Eaglestar's death had of course been shocking, but Fallenstar's news was even more so, he would be taking volenteers to journey to the mainland. Shadowpaw jumped on the opportunity, he had only just become an apprentice, but he wanted to be one of the first to explore this new world! He wanted to be the first to see something new and exciting and to be one of the first trained on the mainland. His parents attempted to talk him out of it, but he wouldn't hear it, and he was technically old enough to make his own deicsions. Fallenstar allowed it, and it was set! He would be going to the mainland.
