Scene 1; Searching for a Cure.

Characters: Albert, Dusty, Eva, Gear, Jack, Klein and Dr. Quaaak
-----------------------------------------------

After several members of the various teams fell ill, the remaining members pulled together to obtain the medicine sorely needed. However, it seemed like things would not be so easy for them, as they approached the medical tent.....

Unsurprisingly, Klein was first in the tent, barrelling through the flap with a fervor that was not uncommon in electric types. However, he was ejected just as quickly by a large Golduck.

"Vat do yee think yer doink?" Dr. Quaaak demanded crossly.

Dusty was the first to speak,”Eva and I are here from team Silverfang. Our third teammember, Cael is sick and we’re looking to see if you have any medicine left for him.”

The others were quick to make similar claims.

The golduck glanced at the gathered pokemon and grunted. "Ze sickness is too spread; ve have an epidemic, yes? Ve have no more medicine to hand out at ze moment, but if yee can help gather ingredients, zen we can make more, yes?"

Klein frowned, "So no medicine till we get the ingredients... ALRIGHT! Where do we gather them? I'll help!" He said, tail wagging and letting off small sparks of electricity in his excitement.

Jack nodded,"My partner isn’t as sick as the others, so he can help if you need an extra set of hands," He offered.

The sneasel noticed several of the others, the Joltik and Cyndaquil especially, giving him a dubious look, but didn’t say a word about it. Once they got to know to Briar, they’d know why he offered.

Dusty let out a gusty sigh,"Alright... How many ingredients do we need to get for this medicine and where are they?"

The golduck watched as they spoke, nodding. The group listened attentively as he listed the locations of seaweed, glowing flowers, and spores. He paused pointedly to add,” Do avoid any suspicious Sneasels!”

Here, the group shot a few covert glances at Jack, who grinned knowingly and shrugged in reply, before returning their attention back to the Golduck.

"Zat should cover it. It is a shame ve must harvest so many zhings for zhis outbreak, but ve have little choice. In my expert opinion, it all started vith zhat lumbering giant Pokemon zhat zhe Kecleon brought back. I vish he vould go avay! But... zhis is not up to me. Healing you is up to me, so do your part!"

Klein nodded, "Okay then, let's all gather at Dusty's and split up to get the ingredients!" He said. He was hyper. And restless. He wanted to go back to Sophie's side to check up on her.

Dusty nodded after Klein spoke. "Sounds good. We should find Buddy and Robin as well. Robin can swim to get the seaweed, which will make things easier."

An archen creeped into the tent, looking for all the world like everything was about to jump up and attack him. Shivering from both the cold and trepidation, he inched forward to hear the golduck speaking, glancing towards the other teams nervously as he heard the mission. All that way? Hearing Buddy's name, he nervously jumped, then spoke up.

"Um...B-Buddy sent me to...uhh..." he lost his nerve, backing up a little and blanching in the face of attention.

Dusty noticed the archen and blinked in suprise at how jumpy he was.

"Um..." He slowly walked towards the other pokemon and blurted out in a rush, "You know where Buddy is? Are him and Robin alright? If they are could you ask them to meet at our base since I know they don't have a house yet?” He grinned sheepishly and added belatedly,

”Oh, and sorry my name's Dusty. A friend of Buddy and Robin's."

"O-o-oh!" Albert jumped a little at being spoken to, but didn't run off. "Y-yes, th-though Robin is sick...and so is my partner. They're with her." He rubbed the back of his head, looking miserable.

"I-I'll tell them to meet you there...C-can we, er, my team come along? I-I'm Albert." He shivered, nervous around so many new people.

Gear shifted a moment, before speaking up, "I have a question....could...I possibly bring my partner to your base? We...we mainly live under trees, since we don't have enough to buy a house really...haha"

Dusty smiled as he heard Albert, "Sure, a friend of Buddy and Robin is a friend of ours. Buddy can lead you to the base and just head in. We've kept a fire going so your teammate will have a place to stay until she is better."

He looked at Gear and nodded, "Same offer for you and your teammate. That way everyone can keep together and we can plan on how to get these ingredients."

Gear nodded enthusiastically, "Okay!~"

Jack hmmmed thoughtfully,"We might as well gather every sick pokemon in one area. It'll be easier to tend them, yeah?"

Klein backed up a bit at all the talking. They were all so tall he felt a bit left out on the action. He inched back to Jack's side and nodded.

"Briar can keep an eye on them all while we gather ingredients. The more we help each other the sooner we can all get the cure for our friends." He said.

The Golduck nodded quickly growing cranky again, "Yes yes, all very good, now please leave! We have some critically sick pokemon in the tent and they need peace and quiet!"

Cringing collectively, the gathered pokemon made their goodbyes.

As they distanced themselves from the tent, Jack hmmed and nodded at Dusty, "Hey, I'd better let Briar know we're movin' to your place, neh Dusty? Knowing him he's probably got a ton of stuff prepped already and will be a bit upset if we wait til the last minute to let him know."

Klein hesitated, then moved beside Jack. "I'll come with you, you don't know where Dusty's is anyhow."

Gear looked at his surroundings, his nose twitching before he turned back towards Dusty and the others. "Where is your base again?"
