Milliput, it doesn't need to bake like sculpey, and it's a lot tougher and less brittle than air drying clay.
I use spraypaint for the big covers of colour.
I used to be really lazy and only paint the heads, I got into spraying bodies when I had gold paint and started making egyptian toys.
It all started initially from when I bought a large amount of MOTU toys, and some were smashed to bits, I made my own repairs with random pieces, and then I got into it there.
