This is a fun idea off the dead in space, dead astronaut ideas. In some weird "Solaris" way the planet kept him alive. Although his corporeal form must fade according to the laws of life, the planet holds his conscious personal essence due to incredibly unique physical and environmental factors. He's basically like the nice space lich of planet X. Also, why wouldn't other astronauts survive in a similar way, disparate on other sides of the planet, or are other factors at play?
I think art-wise, although it's an interesting image that can stand on its own, this image is more interesting to people who have already seen the related images.

I'm just milking this recent imagery at face value.
The astronaut stuff seems to have sold well through print on demand services I use.
I've had people compliment these specific colours.
I'll let people add whatever meaning they'd like to these illustrations.
