Description
I'll leave the Sportjournalism series at two on this account and with four shots in total. I think it's a nice balance! This photo was taken in the Round of 16 match between Italy and Australia, which ended (literally!) in a controversial penalty kick awarded to Italy in injury time. Italy of course went on to win the World Cup, a march that made them pass twice through Kaiserslautern! For those who are not so much into Football, Gianluigi Buffon is the keeper of the Azzuri , Italy's national team. He was without a doubt the best Goalkeeper in the World Cup and thus a big reason for their success in the World Cup 2006! In this scene, he was commanding the wall to align properly for a free-kick: and while most eyes in the stadium were probably on the ball and the players getting ready to kick it, I saw this photo!

Hi! Thanks for the comment and fav! I kind of was thinking that I could do no wrong by adding a photo of Buffon: the girls like him and the guys really enjoy his ability on the pitch!! He was actually my favorite player of the World Cup when all was set and done!

Buffon! I wub him!
Still wish the games had less violence in them though. There were unfair things on both sides.
Awesome shot!

Hi!! Sorry i get to reply this late... but thanks for your comment and I actually did kind of think/wonder how many were going to comment on them being fans of Buffon, either for the looks (girls) or for the good goalkeeper that he is (guys)! : )
Yes, i agree with you about the violence in the games... but it seems to be human nature, because even in little league, those games are not entirely clean!

Haha well, actually I don't like him for his looks...I'm not a sports expert, but besides knowing he's a good player, it also seems to me like he's an honest man, which always help in this cold world.

He does kind of give off that impression when he plays, doesn't he? I don't read many magazines nor have heard any interviews, but by the way he plays the game, quietly but efficient, he does give that impression!
