Description
Back out to tell you stories about the Summer School in the Lake District, UK in June of this year. I set out at around 5 pm to go on another trail I had not gone to before, figuring I could do the 20km hike in around 4hours or so, giving me enough time to get back before it was dark. The only problem was that to get to the start of the trail it took me about an hour to get there, with the associated distance that had to be covered! Inspired by the beauty of the place I set out anyway and at around 8 I was in fact half way home, but the second half could be done either via climbing a very high mountain or taking a piece-of-cake road back. Uncharacteristically responsible of me, I decided to take the safe route back and while on it, I saw this view from the side of the road. I felt that I needed to get closer to get the shot, so I deviated from the route and went on to take this photo.Of course, the story does not end there, because at the same moment, I discovered another trail and decided to follow it as it was heading up a mountain and I figured that if I didn't do the tough route back, I'd like to at least have a look at what the view from somewhere up high was like! One thing led to another (just a little higher, just a little higher), that I was about as far away from the original route as I was from finding an own route back to Ambleside, the town I was staying! Uncharacteritically, I had a perfect orientation sense that day and in the end I climbed the entire hill and got to Ambleside following a path that would resemble a lot more the path a Nazgul (
