Description
Back in 2001 we were walking in the Alps at an touristic place in Switzerland, but instead of only going out to take the "I was in the Alps"-picture, we went a little further and walked and walked! On the way back, I just "saw" this picture and captured the instant as it is shown: with my Dad walking in front of me and a feeling of inner peace all along!Related content

fab piece but my advice is to remove the grain as well as sizing it down... caus this image is waaayyyyy to big LOL. you cought the intresting shapes in well. and that 1 person in the image there, adds a feel of desolation and peace....

This is one of my favorite shots! Also with an analog cam and that 1 person is my dad! (which adds to me liking it so much! ). I had this photo as a wallpaper, even though the resolution is not the best!
Thanks for the comment!

Oh my gosh! that is a gorgeous photo!! I love how the light drapes down on one side and it's darker on the other. It points your view directly to the mountain. beautiful!

Thank you!!
Yes, that natural contrast of the tones in blue is pretty amazing (i think it's due to the sun being almost in the photo, but not quite)! and it is great to know what that effect does on the viewer who "wasn't there". Because, when I see the photo, I kind of see the whole panorama (in my memory), while other ppl see only what is printed! thanks!

thanks sim! I think the full view is fitted so that you can use it as a wallpaper! That is where I had it a long time ago! and the figure on the right is my dad!!
I just love the photo because of that, but the light coming from the left and the nice mountain in front makes it really great i think! It was also not that cold, just some minutes before that shot, we were walking in short-sleaved t-shirts!

Thank you!
There is just something about the great contrast with the white snow and a near perfect blue sky! You probably have some of those in N.Y., right? Maybe just the mountains are missing!
Here is another shot from that day: [link] I also have a couple from a further more "peaceful" place, but those are unfortunately not really artistic... but they are great memories!

Yes when it snows it is quite peaceful and beautiful. For awhile anyway. After so much snow it just gets boring.
I don't think the sky here has ever been a clear perfect blue however. Atleast its not shades of it that fancy me.
Ahhh. Pictures are wonderful memories. Even just snapshots.

Snow always keeps amazing me: I could probably be out everyday while it is snowing. It does get annoying when it starts to melt and it gets dirty and it's all wet and windy... that is when I would like it to be fall!
You are right on about pictures being wonderful memories!

While its clean and falling I love it.
But after a few hours it starts to get dirty and gross. Not all that appealing.

Wooo, first time I see you use my name! And thanks for the kind words, the scenery was a great model!
Yes, a border in white would be pretty neat: initially i had thought of this photo as a wallpaper (i used it like one for some time), but... as you have the view of the border in mind and if you have the time, do you think you could give it a shot?

Thank you so much for the comment and the fave!!
Winter can get annoying, especially if you have to go outside in zillion of layers of clothes and have a runny nose all the time while outside, but it also provides a magic to even the simplest of paths! For example, I love the crunch of snow under my shoes when walking: I miss it when the snow melts and it is the old hard sidewalk again! And... in that mountain, it was actually quite warm: I was walking around in just a polo-shirt!

I don't know which season is my favorite because there are things that I love and hate about all of the seasons.... spring is like the true birth of the new year with everything awakening... but I have terrible allergies summer is great because it is SO HOT and it is the time to relax.... fall is always beautiful, as is winter. It is so hard to pick one.

I pretty much like all seasons.. except summer when it is really, really hot that you can hardly move and you just crave for sunset, so that you can move again and not have to dehidrate! hehe! Two years ago, it was really hell!
I guess I like sunny days in spring or autumn! Where it is a little chilly, but not too much! Winter with snow is amazing though!
