Description Rikku shoved his way back out of the thick crowd, slightly less hurriedly than before. The remaining Merchants were all clearly furious at him for shoving his way to the front of the crowd and taking the greatest-paying mission. Plenty of insults were thrown his way. "Ah, shut up, ya whiny sissies!" he yelled in general response. "Ah got this mission fair an' squβ€”er, well... ah got the mission an' it's mine now, so suck it, ya chumps!" He gave a bellowing guffaw before turning and walking away with a supercilious stride.

Relic, who had been patiently waiting outside, much like a loyal dog, floated away from the crowd and toward his friend when he emerged. Both halves spoke in unison, though not saying the same words due to differing languages. As always, Rikku hadn't the foggiest clue what either half of Relic had actually said, so he just had to guess.

"I'mma assume y'all was askin' 'bout the mission," Rikku said, waiting for a sign of approval from Relic before continuing. He got no such thing. "Well, ah got the highest payin' one, a course."

"Cza kano te-la?" asked the dark creature residing in Relic's pot-like torso.

"Uhh... are... are ya askin' what the mission is?" Rikku asked, scratching his head.

"Zeh," the dark one responded. Rikku recognized the word as "yes." It was one of the few he had come to understand.

"Well, ah actually ain't too sure what the mission's about. Shroomsworth walked away before ah could ask 'im, an' you and me sure as hell can't read it," Rikku responded, handing Relic the letter containing the details of the mission. "All ah know is we's supposed teh go teh the Illusory Woods an' find an Eevee named Lexy."

Relic cocked his head. "Bebeep? Bzzbzzboowee beep?" Rikku couldn't make any sense of Relic's head's language.

He tried to respond, but stopped himself. He really had no idea what Relic was asking. The somewhat monotonous tone of the noises he made offered almost no hints as to what he was saying. "Are... are ya askin' about Illusory Woods?"

Relic nodded his head in agreement. Lucky guess. "I guess you ain't never been to them woods, have ya? Well, lucky fer you, ah've been there before on m'travels from when ah was homeless. There ain't much teh say about 'em, they were pretty much normal woods when ah visited, but supposedly if ya go to a certain spot ya start seein' some weird stuff. Ah'm kinda hopin' we get teh see some a that."

"Ghzan," the dark creature said. "Keleta vaz niar ik tessa va laz nivar kaza ivasor vax. Vano va kita ne zechar ma tessa kanela."

Rikku stared at Relic, completely puzzled. He tried for a few seconds to decipher anything at all from that nonsense, but quickly gave up. "Um, sure," he responded, hoping it made sense. Relic looked a bit confused by his response, so he figured it must not have. "Come on. Let's get goin'."

It's because he's a dim-witted jerk. Those are the best kinds of characters. XD
It's an ancient, dead language. It's the same one Kyurem speaks in.
