I can't decide who's my favorite character: Peter Pan or Rumpelstiltskin (Rumpel has been my uncontested favorite for 2 seasons...)

Boo! Β I don't like him. Β Anyone who hurts my Rumpel will die, regardless if they're family or not.

But, Rumple is alive and well.
If you have noticed a lot of the main villain's like Rumple, Regina, have ended up semi good.Β
So I have hope for Peter Pan.Β

I don't. Β It's like he said; he was never meant to be a father, never mind a decent excuse for a man.

I think he was a shamed of the father he was and thought Rump needed better.
I think the shadow might have also clouded his judgement a bit.
He made bad choices. But, I still like him. lol

I don't. Β He's a thief, a liar, and a coward. Β I could call him worse names, but I'm just going on what was most apparent in his life. Β And in my opinion, Rumpel doing serious injury to himself on the battle field wasn't cowardice; it was one of the bravest things I've ever seen. Β He didn't want his son to lose his father like he lost his all those years ago.

I love Rumple, but he was all those at first too. But he's changed for the better.
I can understand why Rumple ran from the battlefield, but that is usually consider cowardism.
And he didn't run off just because of his son, he was afraid, which is understandable, I'd be afraid as well.
But he was a solider and battling is what soldiers do.Β
So, I thinking why can't they have Peter change for the better? it's clearly happening with Rumple and Regina.
I don't know, I sometimes tend to try and see the good in villains.Β
To each their own. Β

He's done more cowardly things than that, Rumpel I mean, and I've seen others do more cowardly things than anything he's done. Β I hope I never see the horrors of the battlefield, not just because I'm a pacifist by nature but also because I couldn't bring myself to deliberately end another life, animal or human.
"Save Henry" really opened my eyes to how much Regina changed because of Henry. Β I figured she'd be the worst choice of mother for him considering who she was and how much of a paranoid, sadistic, selfish bitch she still is. Β The forgetting potion really sealed it for me; even though I was rooting for Rumpel the entire time during the episode, I applauded her development, in spite of my vehement dislike of her. Β That still doesn't change the fact that I think that, like Cora, Malcom/Pan is one of those rare cases that can't be redeemed and doesn't want to be. Β That's the important thing about change; the person that needs to change needs to want to change as much as those around them.

Exactly, Rumple has done quite a few cowardly things in his life time.Β
Abandon the battlefield, Killed people (some innocent,) and abandoned his son,
lied countless times, etc. Yet he's popularly in the fandom and has been redeemed.
I've seen the change in Regina before "Save Henry".
She has also done quite a lot of damage in her life. Basically the same stuff as Rumple.
Yet she is also being redeemable.Β
As for Cora, she was the way she was because she removed her heart. She was literally heartless and could careless about others. When her heart was returned you could see in her eyes she had regret. She doesn't have a chance to be redeem because she is dead now, but if she were to have lived and keep her heart, she probably could have been forgiven, because she wasn't herself without her heart and not having her heart made her do all the terrible things she had. (Which she did choose to remove it, thinking it would be better for her.) Like how Peter thought staying in Neverland and having Rumple go back to his land was the best choice. He claimed he was not meant to be a father, that must be a horrible feeling to have, he probably felt depressed for years because he couldn't be what Rumple needed. He himself was not ready to be an adult, he didn't want to give up his freedom, he was forced to because he had a son. Regardless, the time Rumple was with his father he grew up decently. Β
As for the not wanting to change part, Rumple for the longest time didn't want to give up magic or being the dark one and we all know he 'had' thought about killing Henry, but thankfully he changed his made and changed for the better, mainly thanks to Bell. Bell can see the man he once was, the better man, and she truly bring out the best in him. However, that's besides the point. He didn't want to change, that is one of the main reasons he abandon his son, he did the same as his own father.
All Peter seemingly wanted was to live as a boy again and rule his dream world neverland and be truly happy again.
Then he discover he would die after the time-glass ran out.Β
It's horrible that he tricked Henry and took his heart. But Rumple and Regina have done things equally horrible in the past.
So it's unfair to say he can't change when they have.
Also, he must of had some regret in having Rumple sent back to his land, because he changed his name to "Peter Pan", after the doll his son named. I think he still has some sort of love for him.
It's just buried deep, deep, deep down. I still think the shadow could be behind a lot of the change in Peter. I mean he kind of derived him in not letting him in on the "time-glass". Just my theory.
I just like the character and the actor is great, he plays Peter very well. In my opinion I think it would be a shame to lose him.

I so agree with you Team SNIC I know hes a bad guy but i know he'll change and also i first thought Rumple was the most horrible but i still loved him and he did change and also Regina has quite changed because she would get any chance to kill Snow White but even if she was right there she wouldnt and she loves Henry also the only one she loves right now, so im pretty sure Peter will change
