EDIT on 8-31-2010: I just found out that this piece WON 3rd place in 's "Still Life" CONTEST!

[link] I don't know where I'd be today, without my miles of piles of diaries and journals containing writings of a wide range of who knows what, except to say, of a therapeutic value that I cannot begin to assign.
Without writing, I would not be here. Writing has saved my life, so many times over, in so many ways...
And it continues to do so.

Such a beautiful photograph, and a wonderful concept. I especially like how you've made it look 'old-fashioned' but kept a modern touch to it, with the pen for example.
I've tried over an over again to write a diary of some sort, but I always have trouble writing about anything to do with myself.
I understand you though, when you say it's theraputic for you. And I'm so sorry I haven't commented in so long!

I kept a journal for many years, and now I have a personal blog. (And I tend to write long comments.) So I think I can understand how important writing is to you.
I like the musical theme to this. Even though I know it's a notebook in my head, my heart tells me that this is about a love of music.

and I can't help but usually write long...
Yes, about the actual journal itself... well, the friend who gave it to me, as many of my friends do know, just knows how much I love music also, and happened to find this perfect journal that was musically inclined! 
And sometimes, some of the things I write tend to be what I consider lyrics as opposed to anything else, really.
There's alot of variety in this/that particular journal.
