Two of nature's childrenNever thought they could be together
A leaf, a sort of mushroom, reaching forward
Day by day, they get closer...
Until sunset comes,
They're almost close enough to embrace.
Dawn; footsteps resound in the forest
Faster, and faster, approaching,
Nearer, nearer...
Crunch! A shoe stomps, broken fungus topples
Leaf is kicked away by the clumsy foot.
And they were so close to a happy ending...
