Pokemon Day is almost upon us, so in celebration I decided to do some doodles of my favorite beta Pokemon, Hoppip. For those who don't know, the beta sprites for all the gen 2 Pokemon were finally discovered a few years back. With them revealed, we got to see some of the first versions of many Pokemon, including several Pokemon who never made it into the final release of the game.

But I'm here to talk about my fav, Hoppip. Regular Hoppip is okay. Kinda cute, but not anything super special. Beta Hoppip though, is everything. It's small, round, legless, and has cat ears. What more could I want? I wish they had kept this design because it's just so good. This would probably be my mascot Pokemon, that's how much I love it.

These are just some simple doodles. It actually all started with the one in the middle, but then I decided I wanted to draw more expressions, so I drew some smaller ones around it. We have a surprised Hoppip, a bouncing Hoppip, a sleeping Hoppip, a confused Hoppip, a rolling Hoppip, a done with life Hoppip, an evil little Hoppip, a scared/trying to be brave Hoppip, and a sweet Hoppip. I also added some swirls, stars, Pokeballs, and grass/flying type symbols all around (though I think it might be possible that Hoppip was just grass type back then, idk.)
