basically, I've never seen a woman that big due to pregnancy. And I'm sure if the real thing came along, I'd probably agree with the "balloon attached to her" theory.

art and art appreciators are funny things. No two artists can look at an object or model and see quite the same thing. Thus their works are different no matter how similar they appear.
Art appreciation is even more difficult to discern. Feedback may be gracious but unless you have a true understanding of what they are saying, there's no way to gauge exactly how they feel.
Don't let others tell you that you can or cannot do something. You have to decide that for yourself. My greatest challenge is putting together what it is others request. Sure, I can draw nude bodies all day long in sexy poses. Lots of artists can and I am the first to say many... no, most are better at it than me. However, when I finish something and post it and the requester replies with something along the lines of "That's exactly what I was thinking of" then, and only then, do I feel I've lived up to that challenge.
As far as art classes, I had a few... in grade school. 2nd grade to be exact, but I still remember much of them to this day. Most of it is practice, and I've practiced most of the 35 years I've been alive. You find a style, and practice. Before you know it, others will be making requests of you too.
