aah yeah I can tell you put a lot of effort into it!! if you saved the grayscale you can always reuse it to make more adopts? submit to a crapton of groups to get more word out? also you can try selling on FA maybe?? from what I've heard it has a much better market than dA but it intimidates me too much to join haha so I can't verify that myself

And it is a greyscale haha and am going to try and make more, I just dont know many groups and when I added to groups in the past it never really helped me out with anything ):

aah sorry I dunno, I wish I had experience with FA so I could give you some tips ;;

you can try making batches? from my experience it seems to make adopts sell better when people can pick their favorite out of a few designs, but it might not be the same for everyone so test it out if you want

try the group search to find groups? [link] (dunno if the link will work but for this one I used the category filter things so it shows groups with 1k - 10k watchers)
there's a group called #Adoptapedia that lists a bunch of adopt groups too
you can also look at other adoptables and see which groups they've submitted to? the more groups the better haha, like seriously submit to 30+ groups if you can, don't worry about spamming peoples' inboxes because if you do it makes people more likely to see it
