Description This is all sorts of information pertaining to my Earth 53 continuity that would either be too minor or unneeded to go into its own story about how or why certain events happened. Since the stories I write are more about explaining and developing characters and moments I deteriorate from actions moments like some of the things mentioned in this section. Really it’s all just helpful info so in future installments you’ll have an idea of where things and characters are in relation to each other; sort of like how the Arkhamverse for Batman has changed up the origins and timelines for certain characters in order to fit in the continuity of the games but also establishing other elements outside of just Batman. (Like the signs and references to Superman and Flash) There’s no timeline or any sort of order to some of these but for some I’ll make it clear where or when they take place. So really you can take this as just a fun little companion piece which I hope you’ll find both informative and fun.

The Three Oracles - After being shot and paralyzed by the Joker Barbara Gordon, the then current Batgirl, proved she was still useful to Batman and his war against crime by using her intelligence and skills in computer sciences and hacking to become a secret informant. Taking the alias Oracle she provided Batman, along with those like Robin, Nightwing and even Batwoman, with needed info on certain villains and criminals and their activates, as well as breaking through security systems and the like. Her actions eventually earned her the ranks to take the same position with the Justice League, still keeping her identity secret to most and working out of the old clock tower in Gotham but still functioning in the same role.

After nearly two years of service Oracle stepped down from the role with the League in order to help coordinate the newly formed Birds of Prey. The position was filled soon after by one of Superman/Clark Kent’s old friend from Smallville, Chloe Sullivan. Much like Barbara she too had advanced skills in computer sciences, hacking and programming; even to where Barbara herself provided a few extra lessons. Accepting the offer Chloe was given the alias “Sentry” and to this day continues to act as League coordinator and information source.

During this time Oliver Queen/Green Arrow had come across a ‘hacker-for-hire’ who used the alias “Overwatch”. Thanks to the assistance of Oracle he was able to find the true culprit was a woman named Felicity Smoak. She was hired by a third party, later revealed to be the villain Brick, to lead Green Arrow on a wild goose chase while his men performed robberies across the city. Convincing her to turn over a new leaf, and because Felicity was rather smitten with him, Green Arrow managed to use Smoak’s resources to his advantage in taking down Brick and his operations. Agreeing to stay and help Smoak, still using the name ‘Overwatch’, helped Green Arrow and his team of crime fighters maintain order in Star City. Only a few years later Roy Harper, former Speedy and now using the name Arsenal, approached her with the offer of helping a new, younger team of heroes in the city of Blüdhaven. This team, called the Outsiders, benefited greatly from Smoak’s computer expertise. Currently she continues to assist the Outsiders, with Arsenal as the current leader, while now-and-then aiding those like the Star City heroes and even the Justice League.

The Lazarus Chemical - During the dawn of mankind on Earth a cluster of meteorites fell to Earth, scattered all across the planet’s surface. In one area that would soon become Madagascar a tribe of primitive man had run from the meteor shower, all except one. Taking shelter next to the meteor ranted the individual with an immortal life and rapid healing factor, even to the point of rejuvenation. This man would go on to live throughout the entire history of man, eventually being known by the name Vandal Savage.

The meteor itself eventually detreated over the millennium and dissolved into a liquid based form. At this point its properties changed to where it could no longer grant everlasting life but instead only prolong a life for at least 100 years, as well as heal any wounds; even fatal ones. In one rare instance it was even able to resurrect a dead person, though the mental effects are still in question. These pools of liquid can be used several times before their rare properties run out, the unique radiation eventually soaked up by whoever uses them.

This new chemical, called “Lazarus” by some, was found in all the other meteorites that fell to Earth so long ago. They too dissolved into pools of liquid that have mostly remained hidden until the recent centuries when they were discovered by a man known only as Ra’s ah Ghul. Unlike Vandal Savage Ra’s must use the Lazarus chemical several times in his life, bathing in what he has called “Lazarus Pits” for what can only be estimated as 600 years.

Some recent research has shown that the one Lazarus Pit used to be in Gotham City, diluted by the natural swamps in the area. Despite this the chemical still proved to be active as it was able to resurrect, in a sense, a murdered man known as Cyrus Gold. His corpse was dumped into said swamp where the chemical seeped into his dead skin. It brought him back to life but it did not regenerate him to his former self. His undead body instead remained preserved and was able to regenerate itself with the Lazarus still within its system. His mind however was hindered, either by the chemical or the fact that his brain was dead before being exposed; the true source is still unclear. He could barely remember his past and could only associate with an old nursey rhyme about ‘Solomon Grundy’ and his dying and returning to life. Thus he too took the name of Solomon Grundy and continued to live as an undead threat to Gotham; even having a few run-ins with the first Green Lantern, Alan Scott.

The only other person to have been in contact with the Lazarus chemical was a European man known only as General Immortus. Little is known of his history but those who know him surmise that he discovered one of the Lazarus Pits and experimented with its contents in order to grant his own longevity.

The Birds of Prey - In the wake of Batman’s first encounter with the villain Bane his spine was severely broken and he could no longer fight crime while needing to heal. During this time his protégé Dick Grayson/Nightwing, along with help from Barbara Gordon/Oracle, did his best to maintain order in Gotham while aiding the police. It proved harder to do as Gotham’s criminals and villains now felt they had nothing to truly fear with the Dark Knight being incapacitated.

With the rising tide of uncontrolled crimes in Gotham Oracle instead called for outside assistance from Justice League members, and friends of Batman, Helena Bertinelli/ 2nd Huntress and Dinah Lance II/ 2nd  Black Canary. Thanks to their assistance Oracle was able to help turn the tide in Gotham, the new group being dubbed the ‘Birds of Prey’ by the local papers.

During Batman’s recovery the Birds of Prey still maintained order in Gotham, even after Nightwing returned to Blüdhaven knowing the city was well protected. In time the group had formed allegiances with both Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy to act as both agents and informants. While their partnership was short-lived it was clear the two had more respect for the team as they remained out of their affairs during the rest of their time operating in Gotham.

Upon Batman’s full recovery both Huntress and Black Canary returned to their businesses however Batman thanked them and agreed the Birds of Prey should remain as a reserve force for Gotham City in case he or the rest of the Bat Family needed aid and/or if his affairs with the Justice League called him elsewhere.

While the roster has mainly been just the trio of Oracle, Huntress and Black Canary they have managed a few other members in the following years. These include temporary partnerships with Outsiders member Katana and Justice League member Sheira Hall/Hawkgirl, a full membership from time-displaced Lady Blackhawk, and a starting superhero career for second incarnations of the hero duo Hawk and Dove, being Holly and Dawn Granger, and Cassandra Cain/ 2nd Batgirl. There have also been times where the Birds of Prey have worked with the vigilante known as Batwoman, but she herself has never been considered an official member.

Alan Scott, the First Green Lantern of Earth - Centuries ago the cosmic emotional entity of willpower, called Ion by the Guardians of the Universe, searched across the known universe for a shelter planet. It is unclear how it happened but when it had come to Earth, for whatever means, a piece of it had broken away and landed on the planet’s surface in what would soon be known as Tibet.

Several millennia later the piece was discovered by a group of traveling monks. After discovering it has a strange power as well as a magical connection with their deity called Rama Kushna the monks built a secret hidden temple around the stone-like object and dubbed it Nanda Parbat.

Nearly a century goes by before Nanda Parbat is discovered by a railroad worked turned small billionaire Alan Scott. During his exploration of the world for a sense of adventure, as well as for vacation time, he managed to find a secret map to the temple of Nanda Parbat.

Upon reaching it, nearly dead from the cold and exhaustion, Alan Scott was nursed by the monks who told of their origin. After hearing of the mystic rock they worshiped he too was intrigued by its properties. When he came to it however the rock seemed to react to his presence, a voice from within calling out to him. When they learned of this the monks felt as though Alan was chosen by the magical properties hidden within it and fashioned for him a green ring from the stone itself.

Alan soon discovered the ring was able to manifest his own ideas into solid constructs and shapes. It seemed to respond to his courage and willpower, granting him great power and abilities. And with a noble heart in mind Alan Scott decided to fight crime in the world by becoming a superhero. Due to the lantern-like shape that was carved on the ring he called himself Green Lantern; the sculpture telling of how they worshiped the symbol as a ‘light in the darkness for all who are lost’.

After returning home to Gotham City Scott began his crime fighting career as the Green Lantern, his first enemy being the undead being called Solomon Grundy. His actions provide fruitful as many other villains, some with unnatural powers, arose in Gotham for him to defeat. This gained the attention of other heroes like Jay Garrick/ 1st Flash and Ted Grant/Wildcat, who would all eventually form their own group known as the Justice Society of America.

During his time as a hero Scott was a secret homosexual and had a relationship with Sam Hughes, his longtime friend and current media manager. The two kept their relationship from most, including some of the Society members with the exception of Jay Garrick and his wife Joan; the two accepting and supporting them. When they officially married the two adopted a young girl named Jade into their home. Eventually they helped to track down her biological brother, Todd, who’d been adopted two years prior into an abusive household. All four were now one great happy family.

Not long after the eventual separation of the Justice Society of America did Alan’s ring start to dwindle in power. While he was unsure of the cause Scott surmised it was because he was getting to old and wasn’t as strong as he used to be. He continued to fight crime in Gotham as long as he could before the ring’s charge eventually ended, thus ending his time as the Green Lantern as well.

Two decades later, with the arrival of the first official Green Lantern Corp member Hal Jordan, did Alan Scott finally discover the truth about his ring and the rock in Nanda Parbat’s origins. He was glad to have fought the food fight and was content to known that with those like Hal Jordan now protecting Earth he’d done all he could and was proud.

The Brothers Blood - During King Arthur’s reign in the later 5th century Britannia two brothers, Jason and Sebastian Blüd, became knights of the Round Table. The two were close as they were ambitious to serve Arthur and his court and prove themselves worthy. Their true test came however when the wizard Merlin had set them upon a quest to investigate a demonic cult calling itself the ‘Church of Trigon’.

Together the two brothers searched before finding one of the hidden lairs of the demonic church in France. They discovered the leader was a man named Brother Blood who was bringing as many as he could under his belief in ‘Trigon’, another name for the entity they believed was the devil. Both Jason and Sebastian were soon captured however and brought before Brother Blood himself.

Upon learning their names Brother Blood seemed ecstatic. He told how their arrival was foretold and that one of them would bare the mark of Trigon to carry on the church’s teachings. He ordered them release but both Jason and Sebastian retaliated and managed to kill Brother Blood instead; Sebastian giving the killing blow.

The brothers returned to Arthur’s court where they were praised but Sebastian, having taken the remains of Brother Blood’s teachings with him, seemed amazed by the concept. The more he read the more he seemed convinced of Trigon and his summoning being the salvation of the Earth. In secret he told Jason of his plan to reunite with the Church of Trigon, his brother begging him not to or risk him having to kill his own brother for the greater good. When given the chance however Jason could not do it and Sebastian escaped. After finding the remains of the cult Sebastian took claim of leadership, naming himself the new Brother Blood and began his new personalized teachings of Trigon. Through his rituals and demonic understandings, thanks to an unknown source, he gained the gift of immortality. Soon the cult had been renamed the ‘Church of Blood’.

When Jason told of what happened to Merlin the wizard surmised the only way to fight against demons was to use a demon of their own. Merlin called upon his so-called half-brother Etrigan, a demon from the same realm as Trigon, to gain information. When Etrigan refused to answer Merlin had but one choice, to bind Etrigan to the human host of Jason Blüd and compel him to answer. The binding granted Jason immortality like his brother but only so long as he remained bound to the demon, only able to summon it through a poem that reveals Etrigan’s name.

During the centuries to follow both Jason and Sebastian would face each other while continuing their own missions. Sebastian, as the leader of the Church of Blood and worshipers of Trigon, eventually brought his cult to the newly discovered America where they established a new base in the form of a settlement dubbed Blüd’s Haven, eventually changed to Blüdhaven. Jason, following suit, would come to America as well while studying as a demonologist to deal with both Etrigan and the many magical and demonic enemies he would face; including those like Morgaine le Fey. Even to this day the two brothers still war with each other, battling for the fate of the world and the coming of Trigon himself.

T.O. Morrow - Growing up in Poland Tomek Oscar Morrow proved to be a genius intellect at the young age of 12. His brilliance brought him to the best of schools and universities where he received some of highest awards in engineering, robotic, computer sciences, and even has some minor studies in alchemy; the latter being only a means of studying the basis of modern sciences.

Eventually Morrow came to America where he began teaching in California. Some of his more prominent studies included Anthony Ivo, William Magnus and Silas Stone. However Morrow’s debaucherously excessive lifestyle brought him into debts with the college. With no true choice Morrow turned to a life of crime.

His first criminal attempts were thwarted by the intervention by the Justice Society of America. After several defeats by their hands Morrow developed a plan to destroy them from the inside. He created a highly advanced android that was powered through a recently discovered air elemental force, something he found through his use of alchemy, with the ability to manipulate and control wind and air itself. Dubbing the creation ‘Red Tornado’ he programmed it to act as a hero and gain the trust of the Justice Society before turning on them and destroying them.

Morrow’s android has performed its task but what Morrow did not count on was the android growing a conscious and turning on his creator and seeing him brought to justice. Imprisoned again and with Red Tornado off on his own Morrow was back to square one. Even with the Justice Society disbanded there were still heroes in the world that threatened Morrow’s plans.

The only other android he was able to build was the newly born ‘Red Volcano’ with the power to control earth, fire and even liquid hot magma. Though the combined efforts of returned Red Tornado and the newly formed Justice League the android was destroyed, its parts sent to S.T.A.R. Labs for confiscation.

With the new age of heroes Morrow had finally given in, living out the rest of his life imprisoned and admitting he wasn’t as smart as he thought he was for tangling with heroes like the Justice League. His final act of villainy however came in the form of helping Lex Luthor, who had temporarily released him from prison in order to reprogram a recently found and damaged ‘Superman Cyborg’. In time it would be known as the villainous robotic duplicate of the Man of Steel, Morrow feeling this was the ‘final act’ that he could end on a bow with.

Doomsday - Long ago when the planet Krypton was ancient and harsh a group of weapon builders from the planet Qward found it the perfect testing ground to develop what they believed would be the ultimate living weapon. Using a primitive infant specimen they released it onto the world where it was soon destroyed by the harsh wildlife. Using the information and grafting it into a clone of the infant the new specimen grew stronger.

In the span of a few months the Qwardanians managed an evolution of the infant that would have taken generations. It grew stronger, more durable, and able to withstand the harshest of environments and even developed a healing factor. However with each cloning process the creature grew more and more violent, mindless and only craved destruction. The repeated deaths were encoded into its own genes, making it grow to hate any and all life it encountered.

The weapon, called ‘”the Destoryer” by the Qwardanians, soon became violet against its own creators and attacked them. Those who survived where lucky to escape and found the creature was far too powerful to control, thus they left it on Krypton to fend for itself and remained trapped. What they could not have known was that over 100 years later a scientist named Bertron, from another star system, came to the planet for his own research where he was killed upon discovering the Destroyer. Using his ship it escaped to the galaxy.

In time the Destroyer attacked several planets, destroying practically all life it encountered on them. But soon it came to a planet called Apokolips, inhabited by the beings known as the “New Gods”. Upon arrival the Destroyer attacked and swept through nearly all of the planet’s armies, forcing the ruler of the planet, Yuga Khan, to fight it with his best warriors, including his sons Drax and Uxas. Even with all their combined efforts the Destroyer proved too powerful.

However Uxas, the youngest of the princes, instead stood back and allowed the Destroyer to eventually murder both his father and brother; something he had planned for in time himself to claim the throne of Apokolips. After that it took little effort to subdue the creature and imprison it within the depths of the planet itself.

Now in power, and taking the new name of Darkseid, the prince turned ruler began his reign over Apokolips while the Destoryer remained imprisoned even to this day. As Darkseid began his conquest of the universe, his war with the New Gods of the rival planet New Genesis, and his search for the Anti-Life Equation, the Destroyer was kept as something of a ‘last resort’ to use against any enemy that proved too much for him and his armies. However such a threat has yet to arise.

I like the idea of Sebastion Blood and Jason Blood being brothers.  I'm not entirely sold on the idea of Etrigan being from the same realm as Trigon, but I see what you mean.

Yeah. I've just always had the idea that Trigon is DC's version of the Devil; sort of like how Mephisto is in Marvel. So the idea of 'hell' being like another dimension grew from there and the stuff with Etrigan grew from there. I know not everyone would see it like that but, hey, as long as it seems reasonable enough I'll take it XD

Sort of,  I always saw there being multiple versions of the Devil, like in Demonolgy.  Trigon is the "Satan" (Satan actually meaning "enemy of mankind" and not a specific name, DC's Hell uses the name in the equivalent of Caesar) of Azarathian legend.  So it still fits in some way

That's not a bad way of looking at it. You should try using it in your own continuity, would be really cool. X3
