Description
Similar to my Continuity Info dumps this piece focuses mainly on the relationships of certain characters. While some character have had more than one relationship, as will be covered, each section gives a brief history of any others they’ve had while mainly focusing on who they’re currently with in this world’s history.Clark Kent - Throughout his life Clark Kent had had very few relationships. In high school his main crush had been Lana Lang, the two going steady up until eventually graduating, Lana moving on to college while Clark remained to help his families’ farming. When the two reunited years later, Lana now a successful fashion designer, she was now engaged to someone else; Clark happy for her nonetheless. Upon his time moving to Metropolis and joining the Daily Planet Clark immediately became interested in Lois Lane, however her devotion to her journalism carrier involving Superman had made her somewhat oblivious. As Superman however he found she was just as attracted to him as his alter ego to her. Clark kept his secret from Lois for two years until, after advice from his future friend and founding member of the Justice League, Barry Allen/the Flash, he realized the best way to earn her true affection was to share his secret with her. Upon the revelation Lois accepted him as both Clark Kent and Superman wholeheartedly. The two maintained their relationship for several years, the only time Clark ever doubting it when he began to feel emotionally interested in his other fellow Leaguer Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. He was attracted to her not just for her bravery, her compassion or her strength but also for her devotion to both her home of Themyscira and the Earth, something he shared in being the bridge between his worlds as well. While Diana had confirmed she’d been interested in him she advised that what he shared with Lois was something she felt would never be the same between the two. The two remained friends and with what seemed like the final test for himself Clark soon proposed to Lois after. The two were married and remained happily so up until Superman’s unfortunate death defending Metropolis and the rest of the world from the creature known as Doomsday. Since then Lois has found it hard to move on, constantly visiting the Superman memorial in Metropolis Central Park and praying her beloved husband would return.
Bruce Wayne - Helping to maintain his image as a billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne has held many relationships over the years. Many have varied from mere flings to brief romances. Most of these include his brief relations held with those like Gotham socialite Silver St. Cloud, photographer/reporter for the Gotham Gazette Vicky Vale, famous actress Julie Madison, nurse Linda Page, and even the sorceress and eventual member of both the Justice League and Shadowpact Zatanna. There was also a brief romance between he and Lois Lane during his time visiting Metropolis; before knowing Clark Kent and Superman and before even he revealed himself to her as Batman. During all of his time only three relationships had ever stood out as more than what the others were. The first and most enduring of these was when he met the known criminal Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Despite her constant changing nature as either ally or enemy, sometimes without against her choice, Bruce had seen the better side of her more than once; especially when considering her adopted sister, Holly Robison. The second came from his fellow hero and founder of the Justice League, Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, she showing interest in him which he soon developed in return. The third was with Talia al Ghul, the daughter of the leader of the League of Shadows, Ra’s al Ghul; whom he’d first met when investigating the League when they arrived in Gotham. While his time with Wonder Woman remained serious until her eventual return to Steven Trevor, her first and true love, Bruce’s romance with Talia was more conflicted than with Selina. Talia remained devoted to her father and his ideals but constantly felt her emotions for Bruce winning over time and again. When Talia became pregnant with Bruce’s child, the future Damien Wayne, she remained distant from Bruce in order to keep him secret until the right time; training him within the League of Shadows by both herself and Ra’s. After Damien proved not to be fit in Bruce’s eyes as Robin he returned to his mother and the League, Talia now becoming colder towards Bruce for not accepting his son. Bruce’s affections brought him back as always to Selina whom he felt was truly the one he wanted to be with. Publicly their relationship as Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne became known after he proposed to her, the two marrying and remaining so to this day. The two have had a daughter, Helena Wayne, named after their fallen friend and the vigilante turned hero Helena Bertinaelli/the Huntress.
Princess Diana/Diana Prince - Before her travels to ‘Man’s World’ Princess Diana’s closest romantic interests was with her long-time friend and fellow Amazonian Mala. Mala had held the relationship stronger than Diana did which was why she had been heartbroken at the arrival and clear affection the princess held for U.S. pilot and government agent Steve Trevor. While still considering Mala as close a friend as she could have Diana did indeed become romantically interested in Steve even after being led to the outside world, becoming a hero and emissary for both her people and the rest of the world. While Diana and Steve maintained a relationship for over a year the two became estranged when Steve’s assignments often had him travel around the world; Diana’s duties keeping her mainly in the U.S. and more specifically Washington. During this time Diana had found herself in brief but apparent relations with both Clark Kent/Superman and Bruce Wayne/Batman. While Superman was more drawn to her, the two eventually agreeing their feelings for each other would not be the same as his with Lois Lane’s, Diana herself was more interested in Batman; finding in him many similarities to Steve when it came to his skills, devotion, conviction and deeper compassion. The two maintained a steady relationship up until Batman had decided to end it, his personal issues at the time complicating any romantic attachments he tried to maintain during then. In time however Diana and Steve reunited, his reassignments, through a ‘personal friend’, bringing him back to the states. Since then the two have been rebuilding their relation together and have kept it to this day.
Wally West - Unlike his uncle and mentor/predecessor Barry Allen, Wally West, in his youth, had been more flirtatious with women. Through high school, while still maintaining the persona of ‘Kid Flash’, Wally had many flings and crushes both on and off the team. These included students like Connie Noleski, Karin Preus and Trudy Powell to fellow members of Young Justice, mainly Lilith Clay/Omen and M’gann M’orzz/Miss Martian. When the young hero group disbanded after the ‘Judas Contract’ incident Wally continued to operate in Central City for a time until the formation of the new ‘Titans’ group, thanks to the mysterious Raven. At first Wally had become attracted to Raven but with her constant rejections he eventually quit his purist, not long before Wally eventually retired from the role as ‘Kid Flash’ altogether. During his time in retirement he’d met the archer member of the young hero team, the Outsiders, known as Artemis. While their time together started on not the best of terms the two became closer despite the flaws they found in the other. After Barry Allen’s death, Wally taking up the mantel as the Flash, he still continues his relation with Artemis to this day; both leading their own groups in their own way but managing to find time to spend with each other no matter what.
J’onn J’onzz - After losing his family and home J’onn J’onzz had not been one for considering to continue any romantic pursuits. Content with his new life on earth as detective John Jones, along with his adopted niece M’gann M’orzz/Megan Morse/Miss Martian, he kept his focus more on his police work. Things soon changed however when during his two years as a detective he was given a new partner, recently promoted detective Diane Meade. She was tough, stern, by-the-book with a soft heart underneath, much like his deceased wife. It was this that attracted him to her so much but J’onn was too nervous to reveal his true Martian form to her for fear of her reaction. In time the Justice League was formed and J’onn, finding more solace to work from the Watchtower, retired his life as a detective to focus on monitor duty. Despite this Diane continued to keep in contact with him, a clear sign she was interested in him. Through the encouragement of those like M’gann, Clark, Diana and even John Stweart J’onn began a romantic relationship with Diane. Through all their time together however J’onn has still been reluctant to share his secret with her.
Dick Grayson - Being the ward to a playboy like Bruce Wayne had brought a lot of attention to Dick Grayson during his time growing up, especially with girls. Like Bruce he had many brief romantic flings but his first serious relationship started with Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. The two tried to keep their romance professional while working in both Gotham City and as part of the Young Justice team. Not until after the ‘Judas Contract’ incident did the two become estranged, Dick deciding to go freelance after the guilt of not feeling he was a good enough leader, as well as taking the identity of Nightwing, while Barbara remained in Gotham City. Only a year later when the Titans were brought together by Raven did Nightwing meet the alien princess of Tamaran Koriand’r/Starfire. The two slowly became more and more intimate over time before establishing a fulltime relationship. It was not until Dick had heard about Barbara’s paralysis caused by the Joker shooting her through the spine did he return to her, feeling more guilt over not being there for her when he should have. Despite this she was glad to know he had moved on, happy to meet and know Koriand’r, the two now being close friends. Dick and Kory continue their relation to this day, both sharing an apartment when not boarding at the Titans Tower.
Harleen Quinzel - After her mental transformation at the hands of the Joker, Dr. Hareleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn became more devoted to the Clown Prince of Crime than anyone or anything in the world; despite what could in many cases be considered an abusive relationship. The pair were among the most infamous criminal couple in history, becoming a problem for both Gotham City and the Batman. At times Harley seemed flirtatious and infatuated with Batman but most times it seemed a playful mockery or ploy to gain the upper hand over the Dark Knight; usually never working. As time went on however Harley’s romance seemed to spread beyond the Joker. On several occasions when the Joker was incarcerated but Harley was still free she joined forces with Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, and/or in other instances Selena Kyle/Catoman; sometimes both together where the group would come to be known as the ‘Gotham City Sirens’. In time Pamela began to show her affection for Harley beyond just friendship, Harley starting to share the same but always feeling her love to “Mr.J” was too much to turn away from. Also when Harley Quinn had been drafted into the Task Force X program by Amada Waller, head of A.R.G.U.S., she had become romantically interested in Floyd Lawton/Deadshot. While it’s unclear if Lawton had shared any feelings for her she continued to be flirtatious and at times intimate with each other. No matter how far she strayed however Harley always found her way back to her beloved ‘Puddin’ and continued to keep her loyalties to him. Despite this it’s clear Poison Ivy still holds her feelings towards Harley higher than she may for her.
Garfield Logan - Upon joining the Young Justice team after briefly leaving the Doom Patrol Garfield Logan/Beast Boy/Changeling took some of his dating advice from his closer friend Wally West. Becoming the more hotshot, attention-seeking flirtatious type he was one to show off to both admirers of superhero community and his fellow teammates. He flirted with those like Donna Troy/Wonder Girl and M’gann M’orzz/Miss Martian, often being rejected but taking it with smiling stride. Things seemed to change for him upon the introduction of Tara Markov/Terra. Despite being distant and at times more self-centered than the rest of the team Garfield had sensed the better person in her, finding it part of why he liked her so much. Even when she was revealed as a traitor Garfield refused to believe it was of her own accord, the two only just starting to become intimate before her death. The revelation of her end and her treachery had left a deep hole in Garfield’s heart which, after the end of Young Justice, drew him back to the Doom Patrol for comfort. After his foster family died, with the exception of Niles Caulder, Garfield’s world seemed darker until the call by the mysterious Raven drew him back to the life of a hero. Joined with the newly formed Titans group Garfield became interested in but never fully pursued it due to the past grievances. Sensing his emotions however had drawn Raven to ask him about his feelings, he eventually being more than honest with her about his past and his hesitations. Even when Raven had advised against considering her a romance for him that only seemed to draw Garfield closer, claiming he had a thing for ‘bad girls’. In time Raven’s true nature as the daughter and key to the demonic Trigon was revealed to the Titans, especially Garfield. In spite of this her friends have remained loyal to her with Garfield consoling her in private, saying how her heritage doesn’t define who she is. Because of this Raven, in her own way, has shown a little more connection with Garfield. The two continue a somewhat steady relation today while still trying to remain professional when working with the other Titans.
Barbara Ann Minerva - The wealthy aristocrat/archeologist turned super criminal Barbara Ann Minvera/the Cheetah, had held several brief relations over the years. Most were small flings or one-night stands with other businessmen or friends she’d soon grown bored of. Even before and after her transformation the strongest of these past relations was with Argentinian business tycoon Sebastian Ballesteros, the two first meeting during her trips for an archeological dig. Several times he’d aided her in her revenge against Wonder Woman but was eventually arrested for his connections to her and several other illegal operations both inside and outside the U.S. During her continuing criminal activity, especially upon joining both the Injustice League and the Secret Society of Supervillains Barbara had grown attracted to her fellow member and arch-nemesis of Aquaman, Black Manta; his only known name being ‘David’. From meeting him she was attracted to his strength, his hate for the King of Atlantis and his lust for power, riches and blood. All were traits she shared in her own way, gravitating her to him all the more. At times Manta seemed more concentrated on whatever plans he had for Aquaman, his family, and the people of Atlantis but there were several moments in the past where the two had become intimate with each other. These instances continue now-and-then but their relationship has yet to become anything truly serious.

I'm thinking of doing something like this in the future. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who ships Cheetah and Manta.

I'm usually very open to shipping and it's an interesting idea. Besides, I love villainous couples. It doubles the villainy!

BBRae doesn't seem to be something that really works in the long run.

Meh. Some last some don't. I just think they're good for each other, especially in this universe's context.

I personally think that Terra and Beast Boy are better for each other but whatever floats your boat. And by Terra I mean the Teen Titans Animated Terra.

Yeah, I think that given her personality she should have returned to be with Beast Boy as she seemed to be the kind of person who latches on to their allies.
