A HUGE shout-out to artist for this incredible picture. I highly recommend any Pokemon fans go take a look at his gallery, it's incredible work.

So, bit of backstory: I've had something of an up-and-down history with Pokemon. Loved it as a kid when it first came out, played the card game for a while before giving up on that, watched the anime up until the Sinnoh region series, and still played the games up until Diamond and Pearl series. I DID go back and play the Black and White games, along with X and Y, and even Sun and Moon. Overall, I'm going to sound like an "old man" and say I've loved the more earlier stuff than the newer. But recently I had something of a Pokemon-Nostalgia trip and decided to get a picture of ME with my some of my favorite Pokemon; and which ones I would use in a Championship battle.

Now here's the story behind my options (aside from them just being my favorites lol): Mammoswine is my all-time favorite Pokemon, not only because it's a mammoth-pig thing that's Ice/Ground type but also for the range of moves it can learn; including Peck if bred properly. Blastoise is my favorite starter ever, and being basically a water-type tank it can take the hits and still keep coming. Ursaring is an exceptional normal type and, much like Snorlax or Slaking, can learn a wide range of moves for any sort of combatant. Houndoom is a powerful fire type and being part dark makes for a better advantage. Golurk is one of the few Gen 5 Pokemon I actually liked and being ghost/ground is a nice advantage as well. And finally little Dedenne, who's on my shoulder if you can't see, is sort of a funny "ace in the hole" sort of Pokemon; since it's electric/fairy AND is so small compared to the other beastly boys around me lol
