Description
This is a comissioned piece for of "Sailor Plain".Sailor Plain is a deaf senshi and communicates with sign language. Even her Attacks are signed out which could be difficult in battle. This image is showing her attack "Dusty Sting" with her signing it out.
The Top panel is the ASL ( american sign language) gesture for Earth. I used Earth because i couldnt find "Dust" or "dusty" then i used the ASL alphabet to sign the word. To emphasise the fact that she uses her hands and i thought artistically it would be interesting.
The bottom panel is the ASL Gesture for "Sting" As the top pannel i also used the ASL Alphabet for the gesture.
The center panel is the final pannel of her attack in action. Particals of soil and dust swirl about her and condense into a harsh biting wind that blinds her enemies.
MY SCANNER IS THE DEVIL!!! it scans black and white beautifully but makes my traditional work look unfinished or "crayon" like.

What an awesome idea! Sailormoon does use her hands in a symbol, so why wouldn't other Senshi! I love the fact that she signs out her attack before using it! XD And this is beautifully done, shaded and posed! The movement gives you the impression that you are watching her sign it out, actively. Brilliant!

Her hands looks so delicate. You did a lovely job on those, and the colouring is really nice.
This is really, really nice. I have to give her creator props for coming up with a very original senshi. You don't really see senshi with handicaps save for the occasional 'blind senshi', and even that doesn't show up often.

HOLY GREAT WALL OF PASTA! This is too, too cool! Should have paid you more. 
As to how she battles for those who asked, she does her signs so, so fast her hands are a blur; sort of like how the senshi transform in seconds. She has never had hearing; even in the Silver Millennium, she was deaf. Serenity offered to βhealβ her, but Plain refused, deciding she was proud of herself as she was, did not want to risk her queenβs life by using the Silver Crystal, and had already learned to use her hands for everything she needed.

I can hear, but I don't have the greatest hearing. I also know people who are deaf or hearing-impaired, and I respect the work that goes into a normal life with that kind of challenge. Plus, I think it's cool she signs so fast you can't see her do so.
