I'm not sure if I'm interpretting way too much into this or if I'm just overanalyzing it.
While I realize this is at the end...
I see Kira on the ground, but I kind of see Light trying break free of the Kira persona. That along with the title of your art, it reminds you of why Light originally picked the DN up.

Screw your colorful art, I much prefer this style. Plus, the darkness suits Death Note, and especially Raito. Man, I would totally ask you to do a fanart for me 
Anyway, this looks great. You captured Raito just as it looks like he's having a breakdown, and that demented smile....very well done. I love the bloodsplattered notebook, but I wish you'd drawn some names in it. Other than that, this looks totally epic!
