Description In the tutorial I forgot to mention you need to right-click the rectangle and select feather, and enter 5 for the radius.

I did this so I could make my image manipulation seem life-like so the focus in the back seemed real.

Photos from Melbourne.... still want to upload some

Hey! Sorry for the laaaaaaaaaaaate reply :S

No problem, I really enjoy looking through your photos, they're really good!

Also I was wondering, if you didn't mind, would you care if I posted a few of the melb photos on my tumblr? It's just a blog I have where I post photos, artworks and stuff that I like (some of my stuff and other peoples). I'd link back to you and everything, they're awesome photos and I reckon as many people as possible deserve to see em

If you wanna check out my blog its [link]

Do you know how to get the image? By right-clicking then open in new window :- )

Yeah it sucks, I've sorta been behind ever since I went on holidays. And it just keeps piling up, but I don't wanna just delete everything or stop sending updates lol, I guess I will just have to try my best.

Yay ^^ hehe I will link back though

Yep yep I'll do that! Thanks

The forgotten info notwithstanding, this is an excellent common sense tutorial for all. Simple, but I am glad that you articulated it.

I do agree as I am overlaying the rectangles so its sort of blends it, but for a complete faded look I prefer to follow the feather option :- P.

I did try to make it simple adding small detail for new beginners - this is my first tutorial to be posted on dA so I'm glad its so far so good.

The feathering option is important to the process. Imagine it without that option. It would look very strange.
