Description
So I read this D9 fanfic "Sugati" ([link] ) and it was amazing. It rekindled my desire to draw prawnies so I decided to use my improved skills to re-draw my D9 OC, Lou Everett.

Everett is featured briefly also in suthnmeh's D9 fanfic PoHa ([link] ).

Basically, Ev has a congenital shell defect -- probably genetic, but he doesn't know because obviously on Earth they don't have access to poleepkwan medical facilities. The disease affects the strength of a poleepkwa's exoskeleton as well as their sensory organs.

The disease makes his shell extremely brittle so he is constantly seeking out help from his friend Eleanor ([link] that is not Ev there obviously). His antennae are also stunted and therefore practically useless, and his vision and hearing are so-so. He is still relatively normal in height (only an inch or two taller than Christopher Johnson) but he appears very diminutive due to his thinness and delicacy.

Because of his disease and growing up in the slum, Ev is very paranoid and jumpy. He trusts no one and avoids conflict like the plague because even a trip-and-fall injury can be fatal depending on the wound. To make up for his lack of physical strength, he developed a strong personality. He avoids busy places and conflict because of his safety but not because he is shy. He has a sarcastic attitude and generally negative outlook on life mostly because most events somehow lead to physical injury or an injured ego.

He's loyal, responsible, and usually helpful. He is probably one of the few prawns to have a job at MNU ([link] ). He has a small income and spends it all on daily necessities.
