16GB base model? That's less than three times the RAM of this phone, it's like ten minutes of video! Nice concept though.

3DS Max rendered! Nice! Would you like to help me out on 3DS Max? Lol, I can't get any textures. All my models are just gray.

Oh sure! What kind of help do you need?

Applyinh materials and colors that look realistic. For instance, creating a realistic looking aluminum. please help me, lol I can't figure it out XD.

 Ah ok lol xD.

Well my aluminium texture was actually an accident - I was experimenting with a chrome texture. When I applied the chrome to something flat, it ended up looking like the concept
I followed this tutorial: www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tuto…

Make sure not to use the default renderer - use Mental ray and some skylights to get a realistic looking scene. I can help you with that as well if you need

Another problem, when I render, I can't see the edges . It's just one large polygon. The shading does not look right.

Hrmmm... do you have a preview? It might be that the chamfered edges aren't big enough.

I'm getting far! Created lighting and cameras! Just need help with shadows. I keep asking you questions and figuring it out . Also, you do you create holes and stuff on a shape, without creating a new shape?

Tecior In reply to DaKoder [2014-01-13 17:06:05 +0000 UTC]

Ah cool! Well... if you go into the camera settings on the right, under Render you should find a tickbox that says "cast shadows". Tick that and you'll get the shadows

I haven't actually figured out how to cut holes into models yet, so I'm afraid I can't help you there :_(

Thanks! I'm more used to Autodesk Inventor, as I use it at school. But, 3DS Max is more capable.

It's all good now. However, how do yo you make something shiny. I mean, I chose a glossy/shiny material and it looks fine in materials. However, when rendered, the color is flat. Also, how did you get the shadow?

Tecior In reply to DaKoder [2014-01-13 17:07:09 +0000 UTC]

hrmmm... Did you follow the tutorial that made it reflect properly? Coz just a material isn't enough

DaKoder In reply to Tecior [2014-01-11 15:58:34 +0000 UTC]

My phone is looking great so far! Thank you so much. However, how did you put on the screen picture with that reflection?
