I'm fascinated by how America defines itself as a Christian nation. So much so that being called anything but a Christian, when you're in a position of power can be considered an attack of character. It's astounds me.

That's one thing that really annoyed me during this election. So many people accuse him of being a Muslim. So? As if being a Muslim is bad? It's straight up racism, and I'm surprised that so few people called others out on it. People need to realize that Muslims aren't the enemy...
I'm also tired of people trying to turn the Iraq war into a holy war, Christianity vs. Islam. That's just stupid.
You know, in one of my art classes a few years ago a (really conservative) girl made a sculpture which was meant to symbolize the war in Iraq. She had one side representing Christianity and the other representing Islam. We called her out on it, but still...
Either way, I'd expect Obama to be atheist more tham Muslim. He lived with his mom most of his life and she was (I believe) atheist. So it makes sense.
But one thing I want this presidency to bring to Americans is common sense. We're really low on it, I think.
