I found this page really fascinating on so many levels, because you show that the gods form is quite scary and that makes so much sense as the Aztec gods are depicted in the ancient drawings as looking very gruesome in some cases. What I find even more meaningful though is that you have the young boy is not being turned off by this, as he in a sense talking to a skeletal being who would terrify most people and make them piss their pants, yet he is so kind hearted none of this bothers him. Its a really deep beauty and the beast moment and it sort of symbolizes looking beyond the appearance to see the human being underneath.

I couldn't have done it any other way. Mic is the God of Death, and practically Death itself and pretty terrifiying, but he has shown only kindness and careful affection for Metz, and so of course the kid isn't that scared anymore.
maybe it's also just because he saw the god in his "normal" form at the very start (in the prologue) and figured when looking at the creepy skeleton statues and pictures of Mic, "huh, they got it all wrong - he doesn't look so bad but they can't really see him"... I dunno, sometimes details of the story such as this just pop up in my head and I go along for the ride.

One thing is sure; Mic can eat all the croissants & doughnuts he wants to. No way he will ever have overweight as a problem

Good question. The Aztecs pictured him like a skeleton but with eyeballs and visible inner organs, so I think "my" version of him in his real form is a more fluid one - constantly shifting between life and death, a decaying body, more like a zombie probably, or a body on the constant brink of death... Even in Mictlan he can look like now, though, he prefers to look more alive, just because he likes it, I guess.
