“I’ve not seen you today, I presume you were somewhere on business.”
“Yes, Watson. I was.” Another pause. The chink of cuttlery.
“Somewhere local?”
“Somewhere very local, Watson. I’d expect you like to know where.”
“Well, I-I have no wish to be intrusive.”
“In the basement. I’ve been all day in the basement of our house. And since
your desire of being not intrusive is clearly struggling against your
overwhelming curiosity to know, I will tell you why I was there.”
And he paused and smiled.
“In the full confidence that you will not breathe a word to a soul about it.”

When I listened to Benedict Cumberbatch reading “An Inscrutable Masquerade” I could not help but imagine the modern John and Sherlock in this story, because I could almost hear them say it, and started to draw this picture, which turned out to become far more detailed than I had planned. Still, the perspective is crappy as hell. I'm very pleased with the both of them, though.
I had a hard time searching for colour palettes for 221b...
