it looks like you scan in your artwork, leaving "blotches" around the edges of the lines.
If you're using adobe photoshop, you can fix this by adjusting the contrast/brightness.
it helps to make the line sharper and "cleaner"

You're doing okay for your self. Best tip for photoshop is to practice... Alot.
That and see if you can't take any classes in school. You'll be amazed on how many things you'll have never thought of on your own.
