So today over the dinner table my cousin's wearing a new red feather-wool scarf; I say to my aunt, hey, you finished the knitting you were doing! She replies that it's really easy and that she could teach me if I wanted.Instead I retreat to my bedroom and spend an hour making a knitting emoticon

Knitting is a hell of a lot of fun. My mom taught me just before I left home, and it's a great way to pass the time. It's funny because I usually knit while I'm watching Godzilla movies or people are playing video games. I'm a nerd AND a knitter! ^_^

lol I don't know how to knit but as far as I understand it, there are two types of "stitches"; one is purl and one is knit (I think? haha) and you use them at different points in the stitching, depending what you want to do.
