It sat for 4 days at AnimeFest in Dallas TX for a mere $40 and still nobody bought her - including 3 different Celty cosplayers!

I`d like to see DUrarara just because of her. Tell me, did she ever appear without the helmet?

without Celty's helmet they draw her headless it like a flame of black smoke. She is the only reason to watch IMHO

Can she speak? In Brazil, we have the legend of the Headless Mule, which has a flame on its cut neck - and it whines!
I had the same feeling, when I read about Durarara in an anime magazine.

Celty is a dullahan which is a faery from Celtic folklore if you see one it is a sign of your imminent death.

Maybe, since they both have European origin - in the muleΒ΄s case, a mixture of Portugal and Africa legends, probably. We were a Portuguese colony and had African slaves here.
The Headless Mule is always a cursed woman who turns into a mule at Friday nights, like the werewolves. It runs wildly, whining and blowing fire, and attacking whoever bumps onto it.
The curse may come if the woman is was a priestsΒ΄ concubine. Probably that comes from the fact that, in Brazilian provincial towns, priests ride donkeys or mules to visit their parishioners . The priest never is cursed, but he can break the spell by cursing his concubine during a catolic ceremony. Other way to break the spell is stabbing the mule, not to kill, but to spill some blood, or take off its reins (which is funny, since it has no head )
