this artwork was the winning option for this month, voted by patrons over on my Patreon! (i was intending to do an expression sheet like this for each PMD: The Rogue Team main character, but Tabor alone took me 5 hours. im not sure if it's because there are 16 different expressions or just Tabor being difficult to draw as usual :v what i mean is, this was veryy time consuming. but i'll see if i can do Erin and Minstrel next!)

anyway!! Tabor the treecko, the Partner of my PMD comic. having a smile on his face 24/7 is a conscious choice - he's just been doing it for so long that it comes naturally. (it also creeps everyone out, and that's a plus in his book!)

despite this, he totally >can< emote like a regular pokemon! he'll frown when he's specially annoyed, and he'll also express strong emotion like pain and desperation much more genuinely. but as Tabor is in his current comic self, he'll never let anyone catch him in an emotionally vulnerable condition without his smiling mask on. //hence, if he were to cry in front of Erin, he'd do it with a blank smile.

why is Tabor like this??? hopefully you'll all get to know him as i work on future chapters
