Maybe it's from doing all that work on the Cirrus (tekka-croe.deviantart.com/art/… ) but I've had a fierce hankering for space art these last few days. This was an experiment in building and using 3D reference meshes for drawing spacecraft. I was strongly inspired by 's wonderful space art.

An Orndun-Class heavy cruiser of the Saldean Home Fleet, accompanied by a frigate escort. There is no pretension in the way that Saldeans design their fighting ships: the ship is a gun. It is extremely rare to find a Saldean military vessel without the muzzle of at least one colossal centerline railgun peeking out of the prow (the ships do, of course, also possess the lasers, beam cannons, and missile batteries that one would expect to find on a military ship).

Unsurprisingly, Saldean space has an extremely low incidence of piracy.
